He's doing the #notmyzionism thing that all the libs are doing now, this war is bad because Trump and Netanyahu, not because of the monstrousness of it all. It's setting them up as a scapegoat to blame for all this and act like Israel is completely innocent, and rely on lib's goldfish memories to forget everything that Israel has ever done and just think that Netanyahu is just a "bad apple" who just needs to be voted out and everything ~~can be ignored~~ will be good again.
Bernie is a liberal zionist. He's firmly with the traditional ruling class of Israel, meaning he wants a sustainable system of minority rule combined with buffer occupations in Lebanon and Syria. The only reason liberal zionists dislike Netanyahu is because they feel perpetual genocidal war to keep Bibi in power is bad for them and they are right. Bibi's constituency are the religious fundamentalists and lower zionist classes in Israel.
