Do they know what people in the Baltics did with the approval of Hitler?
Even before the Nazis invaded, they were being ruled by fascist strongmen. (Although tbf, the Soviets were motivated by the strategic importance of gaining the Baltic ports, national interests were still a factor).
Absolutely shocking differences in survival rates between areas occupied by the Soviets (Estonia) vs areas not (Lithuania and Latvia). Like Estonia always had a much smaller Jewish population, but they were also the only ones with a good route to flee East before the killing started.
