why is the moon upside down?
Who are you to say which way is right side up?

The moon is "upside down" for half the planet.
That broke my brain for a second.
it took me a few minutes to figure out why the moon looked weird
Because you probably live in the southern hemisphere and it is oriented in the thumbnail as it is in the northern hemisphere.
