Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

That youre a metaphorical offensive driver while this person is defensive?
what does opening a comment on here with "fuck you" say about you?
one way is not inheritently better than the other
The good thing about it is you don't need to read past the first few words. Which saves us all a lot of time and effort in the long-run. A weird sort of way, it's honest (albeit impulsive) discourse. Most people nowadays seem to hide what they really mean behind double-speak.
The bad thing is reading the rest of their comments makes me actually worried. We've all been in a bad place in our heads and some of us know just how f***ed up it can get.
what were my poor choices?
You can make admirable choices that also put you in danger, that's entirely valid, but that is making a deliberate choice. Routinely making poor choices however will put you into dangerous situations whether you intended to or not. Again just to be clear, I think doing humanitarian work like working with the homeless is absolutely a fantastic way to give back to your community and is in no way a poor choice.
All that said, I'm not certain I believe you. My mother did a lot of work with the homeless too, as part of a meal program run by her church. As she did that, I used to spend evenings at the church several times a week. All that is to say, I know that community fairly well, I know the kind of people who helped out there. I know they were all kind, forgiving, understanding people. They understood that people can end up needing their service for all kinds of reasons. You on the other hand, came out swinging, ready for an argument. You called me a coward without really having any idea what kind of person I am. It didn't strike me as "kind" or "understanding".
To sum up: "dude, chill"
Do you enjoy negative attention?
It certainly appears so.
I've tried to be civil here, but I'm not sure he's on the same page. It may not be worth continuing the conversation any further here, trolls don't argue for the same reason most users do, they're playing a different game.
No it's not. Life can run many courses on folks. Troll or no, I see pain.
Someone who maybe wasnt heard as a young one growing up, somone in perpetual fight or flight, someone where the inclination of a thought's thought being a personal attack, "deserves" to be defended when their honor was never questioned.. until they spoke to defend what not needed to be defended. :(
The world is sad. It's always been sad. It manifest's through everyone. Sad day today. Let's try and make it brighter for those stuck in the dark.
Im so sappy today, Im so sorry. I keep pulling my phone out, when I keep putting it away because I shoulnt be here in this mood. Im sorry.
I shed a tear for ..everyone and all of it today. fuckin 'ell.
do you want to know what i was wearing when i got stabbed? was my ass crack showing? my cleavage?
It doesnt matter what yoy were wearing. Getting stabbed sounds scary as hell. I got bit by a dog once in my 20s. I try not to be scared of dogs, but it effected me. I play (pve) Rust, and the wolves were giving me panic attacks...13 years later. I can't even imagine what kind of mark that event had on you. Im sorry that happened to you. I remeber the night my brother got mugged. He actually played it off with comedy, but its a whole story, point is, it's scary, it can cause trauma which has symptoms. It wasnt your fault same as it wasnt my brothers fault, and I dont blame the dog.
please take care of yourself. Im legit gonna take off, because truthfully it's having me sob. Please take care, and be kind to yourself. I, some rando, am truly sorry this happened to you.
We live today for those who cannot. you survived, may we honor those who didnt
i hear you. i got taken down by a former police german shepherd when i was 8. still have the marks and i'm not comfortable around dogs still. that is not fun.
do you enjoy arguing with people over details of their life when you weren't there, especially when those details make you feel bad?
I enjoy being helpful. I see you carrying a heavy load.
remarkably. i particularly enjoy when people like to turn around things that i had zero choice in and say "well if it was me it wouldn't have happened!"
even if they are pretending to say it's just about their life, it's about other people and they know it.
dude fuck you.
oof, did you catch a stray for reading that and thinking "man, what choice did he make to get stabbed"? or have you been taking credit for your family's good deeds your entire life like op there and doing none of your own too
Why the fuck are you getting angry at others for your own hallucinations? What the holy fuck are you even talking about?
How about getting defensive over what someone is doing in their own life?
Well...yeah, maybe. Lots of people get stabbed for being a total prick like you, so definitely a possibility. No problem.
