While accurate, how does one live a fulfilling life and build community with this mindset? I’m not trans, and I’m genuinely asking. I don’t know how you would bear that in mind at all times without withdrawing from others to some extent?

that's kinda the extreme end of why minorities build communities for themselves, on top of just having spaces where your own humanity doesn't need to be defended constantly.

There's no feel good answer to this. It's Barbarism. I don't even know what to say I'm sorry. But I think there's a silent agreement out there that everyone knows - emergency rafts only have so much capacity to hold so many people, once you're on it hardly anyone dares to look back, what's the point anyways? Everyone knows I'm drowning and nothing can be done to help. I have to be strong enough to keep myself afloat. So I will encourage as many people as I can to stay afloat, no matter what. We can't just silently drown, at least make some noise.
