It's a lot. I'm not into anime or hentai at all, so I am constantly blocking communities. It seems like just when I get my "home page" how I like it, 16 more new communities popped up lmao.

[-] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 38 points 11 months ago

What the hell why am I not seeing this? Not that I want to, but I keep hearing this and I just don't hardly ever see it.

Your instance is probably defederated from the nsfw instances the content gets posted to.

One of the biggest issues with the fediverse in my opinion, even the all feed is pre curated by what your instance has defederated. Lemmy needs a way for people to find content outside this filter bubble they are most likely not even aware of.

[-] Annoyed_Crabby@monyet.cc 2 points 11 months ago

Or the community just doesn't get federated yet as no one in the instance is visiting/subscribed to that particular community.

[-] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago

Sounds about right. I'm not sure how all this instance stuff works yet. Pretty sure I just signed up through lemme.ee then used jerboa to browse it. Are there ways to get more NSFW content

[-] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 2 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

You can see what your instance, or any instance, is federated / defederated with by going to, for example, lemm.ee/instances

Down at the bottom of the list you should see who they have defederated, meaning lemm.ee and those will not share content amongst each other.

So if you want to see more stuff you need to make a new account somewhere with less or no defederation. Personally I recommend lemmy.zip, I chose it specifically because they only defederate illegal content and meta. From there I can do the blocking of stuff I don’t want to see myself, I just like to have that control and not someone else.

Sure thing, happy furry porn browsing

[-] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 0 points 11 months ago

I just want regular porn though. Guess I can block stuff as I go. Thanks all the same.

[-] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 1 points 11 months ago

No judgement here lmao

I was just joking though, I blocked so many furry porn communities it’s crazy. Almost as many out there as hentai

[-] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 0 points 11 months ago

Ok I just got approved for lemmy.zip can I use jerboa to browse it? I kind of like the way this app is. I guess I'll figure it out lol. Thanks for the help though really.

[-] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 1 points 11 months ago

You can just log in with your new account in any Lemmy client, the ones I have tried so far all support multiple accounts as well so you can switch on the fly. Also you’re quite welcome, it takes a bit of time to figure out how it works around here

[-] yacht_boy@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Do you allow NSFW content by default? I'm no prude, but I had to turn it off just because there was so much hentai and related porn.

[-] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

No I get some NSFW content but usually just light topless in jeans or whatever

[-] BitingChaos@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

I'm on Lemmy.world.

Piracy talk is a big no-no, but I do get to see the continuous creation of never-ending pornographic hentai & furry shit or whatever. The drawings look like sexualized cartoons made for children and the furry stuff just looks like people drawing out their sick sexual fantasies of animals. Totally normal for the communities that are into that stuff. Don't kink shame!

My blocked community list is several pages long now. I really hate that I have to fucking VISIT a community before I can click something to block it. I wish I could tap-and-hold on a post and be able to block the community it was posted in or block their whole fucking disgusting server.

But I can't.

Because that's the beauty of Lemmy and federation.

I'm guessing lemm.ee admins take a stronger stance against sick shit.

Edit: a lot of the posts I see are from communities on the "yiffit.net" server. I have no idea how to block the entire thing. I'll block one community from there and then posts from another will show up.

Edit2: just saw a "kurumi_nsfw" post that looked like a drawing of a naked little girl and an "animefeet" post a little below where I saw this thread, so it's definitely showing up for people.

The Jerboa app allows me to block communities without going to the community page, don't even need to open the post

[-] GONADS125@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

I'm on Jerboa and I didn't realize this... Thanks for the tip.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 months ago

Connect and Sync apps you to filter entire instances.

  1. Make sure you are browsing all, not subscribed or local.
  2. It depends on the time of day. Certain things are more popular at certain times of day in different time zones.
[-] dreadedsemi@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

I'm same as gingerlegs, but I do 1. Probably because of 2 though

[-] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 1 points 11 months ago

I'm always browsing all-hot but do do through jerboa so maybe that's why? I don't need hentai but more porn would be nice.

[-] cerevant@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago
[-] RisingSwell@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

Can confirm, after a couple pages of normal stuff, all+top 6 hours is a lot of porn.

[-] atp@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

My experience exactly. It’s absurd.
