If you are ever asked this question, or any variation of it, by someone who supports Israel, do not dignify it with an answer.

It is nothing but an attempt to distract from the obvious fact that for the best part of a century the Palestinian people have been living under the boot of an oppressive apartheid regime that is guilty of crimes that far exceed anything Hamas could ever even dream of committing.

Do not give the zionist fucks an inch.

I always just ask if they denounce Isreal

[-] WayeeCool@hexbear.net 34 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The denounce tactic is similar to red baiting where you accuse a center left politician of being a communist in order to cause them to attack communists and anyone left of liberalism. It's best to only respond by just calling it a stupid question and immediately moving on rather than taking the bait.

This ~~not~~ bot needs to federate with every instance

Please

[-] kleeon@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago

It simply responds to comments made on hexbear.net

I don't really know what you mean by "federate with every instance"

[-] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago

I've seen the bot make comments on lemmy.ml before too, I think that's what they mean.

[-] kleeon@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

what do you mean? I know the comments will be visible on instances we're federated with (like so: https://lemmy.ml/comment/5033536), but it shouldn't just post on other instances, should it? Idk. The bots are only listening to hexbear api.

weird. Maybe some people are posting to other instances through hexbear? I'm gonna look into that

I don't know why some posts from other instances appear here and why some don't: https://hexbear.net/?dataType=Post&listingType=All&page=1&sort=New

[-] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago

As far as I understand it, for a post to appear on your instances all feed, someone from your instance needs to have subscribed to the community on the other instance that the post is from.

[-] krolden@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

sorry i missed my typo. i mean i want to see it more across all the other instances

[-] kleeon@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago

lol that was an unfortunate typo. Maybe in the future. I don't really want to deal with other instances right now

[-] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Please forgive our comrades for jumping on your typo

[-] krolden@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Ohhhhh shit I didn't even realize that

[-] Venus@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

Stop using that ridiculous thought-terminating cliche and you'll stop seeing it

[-] iie@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

see their edit lol they were saying they wanted our bot to appear on every instance
