No wonder all the male villains were hot as fuck.

[-] Eagle0600@yiffit.net 70 points 5 months ago

I like that this can be interpreted as implying that Heracles is a Disney villain.

[-] young_broccoli@fedia.io 33 points 5 months ago

Well... He eventually kills his familly, doesnt he? Thats why disney never made part 2

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 17 points 5 months ago

Isn't that pretty much on par for most Greek gods and demigods, though?

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 8 points 5 months ago

No, Greek gods are immortal. There's an exception here and there, and maybe the Fates could do it but they're not usually killable even by other gods like the Norse or Egyptian pantheons.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 9 points 5 months ago

I meant more that murder was pretty standard for them to commit than them being victims of murder not being extraordinary ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sure, but Disney Hercules's family is Zeus and Hera so it just kind of shuts down that problem entirely. We even know other gods can't kill gods in the Disney version because getting his immortality is a plot point.

Its been a loooong time since I watched this movie but theres also Megara, right? And if theres Megara, then Hercules' yet to be born children are implied. If theres Megara and children Hercules will kill them. c:

Sure, but they'd be gods, and immune to his murder spree, so it'd just be child abuse!

But, more importantly, Hera is the one that magics him into a murdererous rage for being Zeus's bastard, and in Disney canon she's just his mom.

[-] young_broccoli@fedia.io 4 points 5 months ago

Would the children of a God and a mortal be immortal? Considering Herc has to earn his immortality, i think not.

in Disney canon she's just his mom.

I actually forgot about that lol. Well... maybe he will just eat them like his gramps did

[-] young_broccoli@fedia.io 7 points 5 months ago

AFAIK yes, The only reason their kill count isnt higher is because most of their victims were other gods and titans who were immortal.

[-] Pooptimist@lemmy.world 19 points 5 months ago

I love that you call him by his correct name!

[-] fushuan@lemm.ee 13 points 5 months ago

It's incorrect though, Heracles is the Greek demigod, Hercules is the Roman one, but also the name of that shitty Disney adaptation baby hero.

Disney Hercules will never live up to Heracles.

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@literature.cafe 10 points 5 months ago

Why would he want to? That guy was a dick.

[-] fushuan@lemm.ee 5 points 5 months ago

Yeah yeah, he did fuck whatever dared move in his way, he is Zeus's son after all.

[-] jabathekek@sopuli.xyz 24 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

It all makes so much sense now.

[-] Lath@kbin.earth 18 points 5 months ago

All that silky smoothness is on point.
