Very enjoyable. It looks like I'll be going back to a proper soak with my boar brushes after spending some time trying a simple "run it under the water for a little bit" technique. Past shaves with that method resulted in some shed hairs. Today, with a proper soak, there was no shedding.

When the shedding starts 🙉 🙈

The Stank Tank® is nearing its end. I predict only a handful of shaves are left before I switch to the vegan backup puck. I'm curious whether I'll miss the tallow version.

Back to the office today after the long Easter weekend. I'm not sure yet how I feel about that either.

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on the new™ improved™ vegan formulation.

[–] djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social 2 points 2 years ago

I still have the old unimproved vegan formulation 😅

April 2, 2024 -- Tea for Twosday

Great shave from the Söderfors Extra Specialstål. I have to start looking for other Heljestrands with this steel.

I've kept my eyes open ever since you started singing this razor's praises, but Söderfors Extra Specialstål razors don't really come up on eEbay, it seems.

I have not looked for them in a long time. I saw another MK 31 but it had unrepairable blade damage. I believe they are early 20th century because they have ivory scales (later razors have celluloid scales), so there may not be many of them around now. I'd love to find a MK No. 32 with this steel but have yet to find one. Keep looking. Definitely worth the effort :)
