why are you posting a screenshot of your gallery instead of the actual image? 🙈

[-] TheOctonaut@mander.xyz 49 points 2 months ago

Do you genuinely not know how to crop an image? Or just link to wherever you found this?

Op uses Instagram, so evidently not

Have another sign made and install it overnight

"Please make an additional path covering this packed down area, WE WILL NOT COMPLY"

When they put up fencing to block it off, use cheap bottle jacks and small cuts of 4x4 lumber to rip the fence out of the ground, but just where it blocks the desired pathway.

Become ungovernable

missing a black sharpie “nope”

[-] Itsamelemmy@lemmy.zip 21 points 2 months ago

Can you even get through on the bricks? Looks like the fence blocks it.

[-] Annoyed_Crabby@monyet.cc 13 points 2 months ago

Looks like it but the fence is probably between the walkway and the road

[-] ElderWendigo@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 months ago

The fence is there to keep people from crossing the road at the end of that brick sidewalk. The desire path exists because people want to cross the road and are blocked by the fence. You can also see the utilities for the crosswalk to the left of the image at the end of the desire path.

Wouldn't want to risk it.

[-] NeatNit@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 months ago

It really doesn't look that way to me.

[-] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

If you post it enough in the wrong community, it will eventually become the right community.

[-] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 11 points 2 months ago

Wait, “purpose built” should be hyphenated!

[-] profoundninja@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago

That said purpose made though.

[-] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

These are called “goat paths” and architects seem pretty bad at predicting them.

[-] JDubbleu@programming.dev 17 points 2 months ago

Ohio State actually allowed desire paths to form and then paved over them later to make sure the paths were efficient and would be properly utilized.

[-] Hadriscus@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

This is the way

[-] Dkarma@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Needs a "pave this you stupid fucks" sign

[-] Floey@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

Why go through so much effort to protect some shitty grass?

[-] anti@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

That's about a mile and a half from my house!

[-] freebee@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 months ago

It should be 1,6 miles use the paved path !!!

[-] some_guy 3 points 2 months ago

But there's a fence.

[-] buzz86us@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Well they would rather go straight to the curb to cross.. Maybe they should change the crosswalk?

[-] DickFiasco@lemm.ee -1 points 2 months ago

This exact picture was posted 11 months ago.

[-] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 2 points 2 months ago
