To be fair, he was the most culturally relevant homer for almost 2700 years. (And still is, outside of US and maybe a few other countries.)
P.S. I know it's a shitposting community.

To be even more fair, Theophania, the ancient Greek woman whose name literally morphed linguistically into Tiffany, is completely forgotten. I'm aware that someone with that name existed, but even as a scholar of Greek Mythology, and The Bronze Age Collapse, I never ran across that particular name before CGPGrey went on a fever dream induced, (not exactly,) quest to find the origins of the name Tiffany.
Naming my daughter Theophania now
Pronounced Tiffany
Now I kinda wonder how long Homer Simpson will be relevant. Will historians note him in a hundred years? Two hundred?
They will assume Skinner is the main character after the only remains being fossilized steamed hams edits.
I hope for future generations, they have to learn about the Simpsons in English class like we had to learn about Shakespeare.
Teacher: Ok class, it's time for a quiz
Students: D'ohh!
Ha ha!
Don't have a cow man
Eat my short introduction to the Epic of Gilgamesh.
Reminds me of the Futurama episode where they go see the Beastie Boys and call it classical music.
There's a chance it sticks around longer than most other shows. It's the first animated show in the US to be (at some points in its life) the biggest show on television. And early seasons definitely influenced a whole generation of sitcoms. It's impossible to tell though, as history teaches us there's really very little rhyme or reason things survive as historical touchstones, at least not enough for people living in the era to predict it.
It's also run longer than any other fictitious show in television history, other than possibly Dr. Who. Dr. Who certainly beats The Simpsons in real time span, but for total seasons, Dr. Who only has 26, while The Simpsons seems to reign supreme at 35 seasons.
I can only think of a few other shows that outlast The Simpsons, and every single one is a talk show, late night talk show, sketch comedy show, or a game show. None of these fall into the category of fiction, and all but one of these categories are entirely period based topical shows, and it could be argued that the fourth is also a period based topical show.
A news panel discussion show beats them all.
NBC's Meet the Press has been on the air since 1947.
Your assuming the show won't still be on the air.
It'll be voiced by the head of Hank Azaria in a jar
His voice will be digitally de-aged
At this rate he'll be president in a decade.
Well, Lisa is more likely. Homer will just be cheering her on from the sidelines. After all she did take over for/from President Trump, not sure if they specified that it was his second term or not ....
I really fucking hope they're wrong on this one.
Second most culturally relevant so far
Yeah, that other Homer who was in the "No Homers Allowed" club might still make a comeback.
First best homer:
Disagree.
Still disagree. The first homer in sports would have been in cricket. A sport that Americans looked at and said, "What the fuck are you on about? We don't have time to play a game for 8 hours a day for an entire week! There's a ton of hemp, corn, potatoes, and other crops to tend to and harvest!" and they then went on to create Baseball, which manages to keep 90% of the terminology, 50% of the gameplay, and less than 8% of the original run time. We compressed an entire week of watching grass grow while the contestants are performing their arcane ritual, into a game and that only last 3 hours, and kept most of the watching grass grow while the players perform their arcane rituals.

The second best homer. Second best homer.
Ya pup, ya!
