I prayed to God really really hard one time for there to be an end to COVID. That should have been enough.

We prayed and prayed and prayed for a cure and all we got are 3 vaccines we don't want to take and doctors telling us we need to not do things we want to do, what could have possibly gone wrong?!?!

This just means it's a variant with changes to the virus' properties. Might come with decreased vaccine efficacy, possible increased severity or spread, but it's not necessarily an increased public health risk, that'd be a "variant of concern", which is when the variant significantly changes the way the virus behaves.
