community notes suuuck, they used to, at one point, be a way to insert objectively correct information over the top of a subjective statement. but now they're literally outsourced to the community which has turned them into "errmm actually" notes that people use to get one up epic meme snipes on whoever they're arguing against, which makes the community notes the least reliable source of information on twitter
i fucking hate twitter so much

Ummm no it isn't Nazi to criticize Stalin because [torrent of Nazi-fascist lies and propaganda], understand Tankie?
I really need to read that recent translation of Losurdo's Stalin: History and Critique of a Black Legend (free PDF available!)
Anyone can make their own notes, so I'll say this
Community notes:
While it is arguable that criticizing Stalin's policies is equivalent to Nazism (depends on whether destructive or constructive), Stalin's administration did not deliberately create the Holodomor, a nationalist anti-Soviet term indicating intention against Ukrainians, and the Great Purge and Gulags were a response to both any western-backed reactionary and bureaucratic and unproductive, petty criminal elements. While it may have caused millions of deaths, it may be argued in context and in comparison to other nation-states,.
Why wouldn't Stalin leave the Nazis alone!
What do you mean I'm supporting Nazis?!
Slop.
