Couldn't live up to the legacy of his dad, let alone his biological father castro-stuff

Speaking purely on the level of political talent, PET actually possessed a measure of gravitas some of the time, something very few Canadian PMs have ever really had because we are an inherently ridiculous "country." JT by contrast seemed like a transparent phony chasing approval the whole time.

It's funny how Parliamentary systems usually have the PM serving until they get unpopular enough that they are humiliated out of power.

In a way this makes me sad because hating Trudeau was the one thing uniting everyone in my family across the political spectrum

From the NDP subreddit:

Jagmeet isn’t going to gain enough seats to make a difference. The Conservatives and Bloc will add significantly to their totals and the subsequent austerity measures Poilievre has been salivating over will send us racing to the bottom just like the Americans. If you think things are fucked now, just wait.

Reply:

My biggest fear. And the dead silence on foreign interference, what with pp’s last interview and moe/ harper’s trip to india. I guess it’s time to volunteer and advocate harder.

“The neolib party are about to eat shit to the right and our succdem party won’t make any gains, so things are going to get much worse, but we just have to do electoralism harder.”

Jagmeet is at least as long past his sell-by date as the PM is

So many lifted trucks are gonna have to scrape half the stickers off their back window

I think it's extremely cool that the PM can just turn off democracy if he gets unpopular.

[-] Crucible@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

I asked the king of england's friend and he said we can't have democracy til you guys are nice to me again

Thoughts on if this will make a difference in the upcoming election?

[-] hollowmines@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Everything kinda depends on whether that election happens in October (better for everyone who's not the conservatives, probably) or sooner than that (potentially very bad for the Libs considering how little time they could have to get their shit together)

Hey looks like a buch of shit coming up. Time to bail and hand the mess to the even more fascist to take the blame, which totally won't stick or just say the crash was handed to them by Trudeau. Good run eh?
