David's Tea

DavidsTea (often stylized as DAVIDsTEA) (in French Les Thés DavidsTea) is a publicly traded Canadian specialty tea and tea accessory retailer based in Montreal, Quebec. It is the largest Canadian-based specialty tea boutique in the country.
[...]
By September, they had reduced the number of retail locations to 18. Of 240 locations it had at the start of 2020, it permanently closed all 42 U.S. stores and 166 stores in Canada. It announced that it would focus on its e-commerce and wholesale businesses.

I always saw Twinings as like the Acme of Tea. They just make decent versions of everything, better than Liptons anyhow

Decent overpriced stuff of everything? That's Apple alright.

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Nah Twinings is pretty reasonable on price and quantity

Its cornflowers, and it means i can't drink it.

Something about the flavour ruins tea for me, can tell immediately when its being used as a filler.

I feel like i was reading that cornflower by weight is like way more expensive than actual black tea. In that light, its kind of amusing that the more expensive thing is used as filler

Cornflower by volume takes up a lot more space though, so visually/per teabag the weight looks much higher. That, and it "naturally" sweetens the tea, helping improve the flavour with the cheaper, lower quality, tea leaves.

You probably don't want to know.
