Excellent .. can't wait until bot operators find new and exciting ways to use it to get more eyeballs on their scams.
Hopefully they'll add an AOL'esqe 'you got nudes' sound.

I wish there was an option for "I'm in the UK - we don't use SMS/RCS anymore". Every time I open the text app it acts as if it's Signal/WhatsApp and I'm suddenly going to start texting people like it's 2003. I just want the 2FA pass code that was sent, you weirdos.
You can disable any app using ADB. See here to disable messages.
Though this is a reason I run AOSP (Lineage, Graphene) and root my phones. I keep SMS apps disabled (in the US we have stupid emergency alerts that are never relevant to me that come through the SMS system.)
I wish my xiaomi 13T allowed other custom OSs
