Every bread is a sad story of a wheat that failed to become a beer

[–] Scott_of_the_Arctic@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Make your beer from barley like a normal person.

Wheat beer is ok. I'd just argue that ale is much better.

I'm making beer from plum and made rakija instead oops :3

[–] Scott_of_the_Arctic@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Plum wine, surely? Rakija needs to be distilled.

Well now I know where my problem was

Who the hell takes tomatoes off of burgers??

I go out of my way to put them on sandwiches!!

[–] higgsboson@dubvee.org 19 points 3 days ago (2 children)

A poor quality tomato can be worse than no tomato.

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Agreed, but you shouldn't be getting sad soggy tomatoes when you order food out.

Then again I tend to make my own meals. (Due largely in part to price increases)

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

But a poor quality tomato with ketchup on top could be an improvement.

A friend of mine who worked at a sandwich shop introduced me to spike. I normally want my tomatoes cooked, but seasoned with spike is pretty good too

Personally I quite like the flavor of tomato but have a texture thing with fresh ones. It's honestly kind of annoying; they look good, smell good, and I like them in sauces and things like that, but if I try to eat one as is it straight up makes me gag.

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm like that with raw onions. I enjoy cooked onions, but fresh raw white onions make me gag.

I want to try one of those yellow biting onions

[–] vodka@lemm.ee 4 points 3 days ago

I do!

But thats because I'm (mildly) allergic to raw tomato, doesn't have anything to do with it's taste.

When i was in Barcelona i got tired of the lack of vegetables everywhere and asked if they had any at a place that served jamon and cheese sandwiches. The lady said she had tomatoes, so yes please add that. I watch in amazement as she rubs a tomatoe half on the bread and throws it in the trash. So i just got some not even noticeable juice in the sandwich. What the hell is up with that?

Also, ketchup is trash

Ketchup is god's condiment

[–] spooky2092@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Z tier god maybe

I like the flavor of vinegar. That's why I put on mayo, mustard...

[–] FiskFisk33@startrek.website 3 points 3 days ago

porque no los dos?

[–] nullPointer@programming.dev 7 points 3 days ago (3 children)

wait, you put ketchup in your tomato?

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Sometimes I use the tomato as a plate for ketchup so I can dip my fries.

[–] hark@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

I inject the tomato with the ketchup syringe to boost the tomatoness.

i think the "in" was referring to the burger
