now all we need are solar panels to clean the solar panel-cleaning solar panels

[–] ThisSeriesIsFalse@lemmy.ca 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Just give it a little squeegee on a robot arm to run down its panel every so often

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)

with a solar panel to power it of course

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

But who will clean that solar panel?

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 1 month ago

a smaller cleaning robot obviously, powered by a smaller solar panel

[–] StarvingMartist@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

An infinitely recursive loop

[–] DogWater@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Just tinier and tinier solar squeegy bots forever.

[–] astrsk@fedia.io 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Seems like it could power its own, keeping it a closed loop.

[–] lightsblinken@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

next iteration of panels will use a Möbius loop!

That little bot is one of my favourite Pixar characters. The dedication to cleaning every single spot is inspiring

[–] DogWater@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I love him when he gets upset at someone for spilling on something it just cleaned

We trained my 5yo son to go "woah woah woah woah woah woah woah" in a similar voice to that robot, and it's so funny how he chooses to use it. He is also our favorite Pixar character, also!

[–] mjhelto@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The Wall-E movie. This little guy is hilarious!

It's solar panels all the way down

[–] mjhelto@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

Always has been.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You'd only need two, if anyone is interested.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What cleans the cleaning solar panel?

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Just get two and use whatever power is left.

[–] JoShmoe@ani.social 3 points 1 month ago

I wipe my ass with solar panels.

It is quite impressive how far China has developed in such a little time. It all happened during my lifetime.
