The Democratic People's Republic of Tankiejerk

Dunking on Tankies from a leftist, anti-capitalist perspective.

Rules:

  1. No bigotry of any kind.
  2. No tankies or right-wingers. Liberals are allowed so long as they are aware of this
  3. No genocide denial

We allow posts about tankie behavior even off fedi, shitposts, and rational, leftist discussion.

Curious about non-tankie leftism? If you've got a little patience for 19th century academic style, let a little Marx and Kropotkin be your primer!

Marx's Communist Manifesto, short and accessible! Highly recommended if you haven't read it

Besides making things up they also left out some important stuff like Pine Gap in Oz and Diego Garcia in BIOT. Strange that a .ml user would present a less than well researched argument...

No bases in USA proper, one smack dab in the Brazilian capital.

An actually reliable source - https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/9/10/infographic-us-military-presence-around-the-world-interactive

You can also use this map with filters to check for specific base types - https://www.todaysmilitary.com/ways-to-serve/bases-around-world

Thanks for sharing. Pretty interesting that aside from Diego Garcia and Australia, there are no bases in the southern Hemisphere.

Why is there one in Beijing

[–] Phineaz@feddit.org 20 points 1 month ago

Maybe it's just embassies?

See how imperialistic those yanks are? Nowhere is safe!

I always knew Moscow was an American base!

Well, they did apologize for being on mobile, maybe that's why they're posting irrelevant nonsense.

Ah yes, the famous US base of Paris, of course!

I must be imagining that military base I pass whenever I visit my parents as I don’t see it on the map.

Actually embassies have armed Marines in them so they're technically military bases which proves Russia is only acting in legitimate self-defense

Apparently there's a land bridge connecting all of Indonesia and Malaysia to Australia. I thought global warming is going to cause rising sea levels, not falling?

Looking through their post history, they can’t even make image posts correctly. Either not the brightest bulb or they’re working for the Internet Research Agency

Pins aside, it's just a weird map in general. Seems like you could've walked from Siberia to Australia through Japan almost lol
