This, and other images that make one very angry. Of course, this average is is due to the bourgeoisie dragging figures up. Median individual income is roughly about half of these figures. And that means 50% make even less than that.

The bourgeois are feasting while all around me, I see the ghost of Tom Joad. Regular workers are being left in the dust.

Rising inequality is no new concept. It’s been getting dramatically worse for decades. But with looming climate collapse and the worldwide rise of fascism aided by liberal collaborators, when will the house of cards fall down?

Once again, if you’re able to safely do so, stay armed comrades.

What's wild is that even that bloated average isn't living wage in most states.

Even $68k/yr is only about $1200/mo after rent and taxes. Groceries are another $500/mo for a decent diet, so you're left with $700 for everything else.

There's a reason credit/debt is so engrained in the fabric of this shithole country.

Was gonna say, factoring for the extra costs like school, childcare, healthcare, retirement, car loans, no vacation pay it's basically crap pay anyway.

USA is a scam.

When even the "optimistic" wages are leaving a working family with 2 parents at under $20,000/year in disposable income (literally anything that isn't just not being homeless and having 1-2 meals/day), you're fucked.

These are are also the people expected to maintain local service economies (even though most of them also work in those service economies), support subscription services, and be the primary consumer base for global production.

this is more of a visualization of cost of living differences than income inequality

also using average instead of median is gonna skew the results massively

That is the point I am making in the body about income inequality, yes. But I’m glad we are on the same page.

Having a median would be nice as the inequality in the usa is pretty fucking huge

These are the March 2025 figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are also the petit bourgeois to consider, who simply pay themselves a high wage by consuming the surplus value of their workers labor. Or in a less traditional definition, simply those who collect high salaries without actually contributing labor or generating value.

Of course, highly compensated workers such as skilled tradespeople, the classic doctors and engineers, etc would also affect it. Also for the bourgeois, they have to realize their capital gains at some point to spend the money, which gets filed as income.

However, you are absolutely correct. There is an entire world of high net worth individuals that collect stock compensation, funnel money into offshore accounts, create LLCs and nonprofits to vanish the taxes away, etc. If that were somehow accurately assessed and taken into account, I have no doubt these figures would be an order of magnitude higher.

I’ve been at bourgeois events. Seen their open disgust for the working class, minorities, and the marginalized. The unimaginable wealth they parade around in designer clothing, blood diamonds, and Audemar Piguets. The 6 car garages and winery estates. The callous disregard for the value of money, throwing away thousands without a single thought.

All of it, makes me rage with such depth that I am sure if I was in a like minded crowd with these ghouls in front of me, I would not hesitate to [redacted].

The corporate-art at the top just makes it, I don't think they could've displayed how little they care about workers any harder.

Jokes on this graph, I make about half of those averages.

Also, "average hourly earnings" is not the same thing as "yearly net pay."
