Did everyone already forget the "Z" symbols on Russia's vehicles at the beginning of the invasion? Wtf

[–] LoveWitch@hexbear.net 42 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Isn’t it basically holocaust denial to compare modern Russia to the Nazis?

[–] Barabas@hexbear.net 46 points 1 month ago

Far less offensive than comparing the Soviet Union to the Nazis.

Yeah, this isn't some made up lib stuff, Russian armed forces were literally marking themselves with a Z. The tweet is of course dumb still.

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 23 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Seriously. This is some worrying historical illiteracy being displayed here.

Sometimes I wonder if it is people just being willfully obtuse. Like, a random twitter user not getting it I understand, but given the absolute shitton of posts about the war on here you'd think people would recognize it.

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago

It would be like discussing the Vietnam war and calling people nerds for knowing who "Charlie" is or something.

The ’Z’ symbol is commonly associated in Russia with the ongoing military action in Ukraine as some of the troops participating in the operation had been seen marking their heavy equipment and vehicles with it. It is also considered to be a sign of support for Moscow’s operation and the Russian troops fighting in Ukraine.

https://archive.is/3JNj1 (Russia Today - April 2022)

People who support Russia use the letter Z as a logo/symbol. Ukraine flag NATO twitter posters also refers to Russian people with the letter Z. The Z symbol does not come from "ruzzia" as OP said. "ruzzia" was made up by libs after they saw the Russian military photos.

The YourAnonCentral twitter account is a huge lib and honestly this post is mild in comparison to their other posts, in terms liberalism. Try to make sense of their post below.
