RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

I have been particularly miserable lately, just quit using nicotine altogether, and also been moving away from subscriptions. I need distractions that aren't gum and Altoids. I've been into these songs lately: Whatever You Want - Sports, Zen Automaton - Pond, Bicep - TR/ST, People in the Streets - MGMT, and We Control - Hyper.

The Boybands Have Won by Chumbawumba.

I've been listening to a lot of Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog lately. "The Activist" really is a song for our times.

Slayer. The first 5 albums are nostalgic and make for great "summer music".

I'm still obsessed with Zola Blood but be also been listening to Sohn, HAEVN, stuff like that. I sometimes also fall back on Charlie Cunningham and Blanco White, bit of SYML and Ghostly Kisses in there as well.
