Miss the little guy a lot. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him and miss him. I often visit his grave outside and just sigh to myself. It sucks, but I gave him the best life I possibly could, he didn't want for nothing. So I take some solace in that fact, that in his time here on earth I did right by him and loved him dearly.

That's the best we can offer them and they teach us how to love the next one better. rat-salute-2

Don't hold yourself back on some sort of idea that there needs to be a set amount of time that passes first!

You're right, I also read a book on pet loss that mentioned the same thing. Right now though I simply don't have the money to pay for an adoption with the fees of fixing them and shots.

he always had a cute little dog face

Yeah whomever named him "Wolfie" had the right idea, but I had a ton of pet names for him, Mr. Peanut, Peanut Head, and ofc Mr. Softie.

Mr. Softie looks like a proper gentleman who lived his best life. We spoil them because they deserve it. And it sounds like that's exactly what you did for him, no one could ask for more.

He was the nicest cat you'd ever meet, not a mean bone in his body and thanks.

Beautiful cat. It's so hard losing pets that you hold this dear but it sounds like he was loved and cared for which is more than so many other cats can say and I'm sure he felt lucky to have you meow-hug

[–] blunder@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

That's a good kitty right there. Glad you two found each other.

Oh no! I never knew, I'm so sorry for your loss. I used to love your posts and had wondered recently why I hadn't seen any for a while, I didn't realise this was why!

pour one out for Mr Softie

This is one of the sweetest cat posts I've ever read. I'm so sorry you lost your friend. Are you in a position to take in another?

Are you in a position to take in another?

Not right now but maybe down the line

RIP :( .  It's not fair our animal friends don't get to live as long as we do.

[–] icdmize@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

He looks like quite the gentlemen. It sounds like he had a great life and loved you equally. I have lost a few animals in my life and even though I'm an agnostic atheist I still hang onto the thought of the rainbow bridge and that they're all healthy, running, and playing in a beautiful place waiting for me on the other side. I'm sorry for your loss.
