Proportional representation would prevent governments from sidelining the legislature and would require cooperation instead of unilateral control.

The United States; First Time?

Trump has no mandate with his minority support.

If proportional representation makes a democratic system more fair for all, and we are not moving towards it, then we're just "America Lite" and nothing more. We share the same values with Trump and his crew, to a lesser extent. C'mon politicians! Quit sitting on your fat asses where you can take lots of time off and still get paid. What are you? The privileged elite? It's time to do the right thing for the citizens. Throwing money at new projects and corporations to stimulate the economy just means that the same old players who are familiar with the system get the contracts and they'll be dancing to the same old song all over again.

From the guy yelling at Ontarians to "go out and get a job".

Preferably one where you can fuck off for a third of a year, paid.

Go to Conservative MPP's homes.

Not voting is still a choice. We don't get to be let off the hook because we couldn't be arsed to vote for someone else. It's universal that the lower the turnout, the better conservative candidates do; not voting is simply a vote for the conservatives! This is squarely Ontario voter's fault.

Strange that you arrived at a puritannical explanation where our problems are a result of the moral impurity of individuals and not systemic failure. But sure, you don't harbour conservative values.

The last Ontario election was pretty much deliberately planned to minimize voter turnout—bad timing and so little public information that many people didn't even realize it was happening. You can't vote in an election that you don't even know is taking place.

Are y'all sure they aren't manipulating the tallies? Down here in the US it sure looks like the Republicans tried to steal the 2020 election and failed, and succeeded in 2024

There was nothing anomalous or unexpected about the results. Ontario sucks.
