The LA Fire Department said a man and a woman were found deceased inside, approximately 78 and 68 years old

It is unknown at this time if the deceased are Rob Reiner and his wife but the ages are approximately correct. Some news sites are referring to it as a homicide.

It's now been confirmed that the bodies are indeed of Rob Reiner and his wife.

Pretty suspicious that Rob Reiner was out there talking to hollywood figures about anti-trump motions that the film industry could take and then, suddenly, he's found dead a few days later.

I mean, you know, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. So I'll just say it's quite the co-ween-ki-dink.

Their son Nick is in custody for the crimes. Had nothing to do with politics.

Not for nothing but in custody and guilty are two vastly different things.

As are "committed by a family member" and "unrelated to politics," for that matter.

It was patricide.

Wikipedia changed to "was". It's all over. Sorry to see him go.

This is crazy spooky. Just 2 days ago Rob Reiner showed up in my YouTube algorithms like I never even thought of that man before in my life but just 2 days ago I just learned that he was Meathead from All in the family and then he became a writer/ producer of tons of popular movies like Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The princess Bride. Why was he so hot in my algorithms 2 days ago?? Was that some sort of premonition YouTube was having?

The two events more than likely have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Or the recommendation algorithm became sentient and is trying to communicate with us. This requires more research.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean.

Occam's razor would suggest otherwise.

But anything is possible, I guess.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ok, so how do we research it?

That happened to me with Graham Greene. I watched a movie and recognized him but I couldn’t remember his name. Looked him up and fell down a rabbit hole deep diving into his biography. He passed away the next day. :(

We need to all do this with Trump then

I spent like a month obsessing over the Black Death. There was way less readily available and searchable information about how it spread in my part of the world (Levant, Middle East), even though it pops up around different eras to just pile misery on top of conflicts. So I had to really look into stuff to learn about it, and put some effort in, because almost all the neatly compiled info was about Europe.

That was at the tail end of 2019. Cool cool cool

[–] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago

J’accuse! Jk. There’s a show on Netflix called Explained. Each episode is a mini documentary. There’s an episode from 2019 about “the next pandemic”.

They really nailed it.

If he was murdered because they thought what he said was too much .... the world will now hear everything he had to say because they killed him.

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

ootl, what did he say? I just remember him from so many classic movies.

[–] argueswithidiots@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Reiner turned 78 in March. I wonder how old his wife is (was).
