The more of these I see, the more I agree with Everett

I feel he's like Larry from Curb Your Enthusiasm, or vice versa given the order of release. Larry often says and does things others would hold back on doing, like calling people out on their poor social behavior; and we praise him for doing those things. But the rest of the time he's just a dick, trying to get others to live by his rules.

And that it's just straight up bullshit

I am getting why people are reposting these. Man how timeless peoples shitty behavior is.

If you don't have anything nice to say...

Man can we bring back entertaining a guest. I seen and heard this was a thing. Just we don't do this anymore

Yeah, "hosting" was such a common pastime in older generations. Culturally now, it seems more limited to events, like parties or celebrations.

I wonder what changed. I guess people became more isolated and have more entertainment in the home than before. Maybe it died once it became more common for both spouses to work, making it harder to find time? Or, because a lot of young people have less space - like, hosting in an apartment with roommates vs your own house (although that's probably too recent of a change to explain it). Could it just be a general loss of the tradition or social structure behind it?

I don't ever remember my parents hosting, and we had a home of our own. So not sure when it fell out of favor. But goddammit we need to bring it back. Especially with how toxic social media and internet in general is becoming.

Also be easier to plan the revolution that way. It be nice and I give it a go if I knew anyone to invite and get the tradition started again. Same with pen pals, with sending postcards and letters. Be cool.

Wait, we don't...? Do people not have friends anymore or is it all online or something...?

It's kinda hard to pull off if you don't have your own place. And even if you do, everyone's too busy.
