Can't wait to see how old did Ed got this time. Probably has finally morphed into the Crypt keeper.

They might play the 'lower gravity prolongs life' card.

What an awesome show.

Yeah it’s become less believable as time has gone on, but it’s still a fun ride.

Strongly recommended to anyone who hasn’t seen it and is interested in the space, especially historically.

Yeah, at this point I'm so locked in, I'm willing to go along for whatever shenanigans they're up to.

I think it was good for a while, but it feels like it has run its course. I do look forward to the Star City spinoff, if it ever makes it to air.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last season. They colonised Mars, haven't watched the trailer, but how much more can they do?

Okay so hear me out. It's 2350, right? Humanity has expanded to the outer reaches of our solar system. Humaniry is divided into three classes of people, Earthers, Martians and those who live and work in space, Belters.

Mars has become a free nation and is now in the middle of a cold war with Earth. Then one day a ship named the Canterbury disappears and someone named James Holden, an earther working for a Belt based ice hauling company says his ship the Canterbury was destroyed and points the finger at Mars.

They could call the new show something like The Void or The Space Between. 🙃

And somehow Ed Baldwin is still around.

Anyway, your theory is nice, but it has one fatal flaw: It was already confirmed that Andy Weir's The Martian takes place in the same universe as The Expanse and I don't see how that works with For All Mankind.

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Ok, it's the year 40.000 and humanity is fighting a war against extinction (and pro-extinction as well).

And Ed Baldwin is the emperor of mankind.

It's the year 40k and for some reason people greet each other with "Hi Bob". Linguists still haven't found the origin of this expression.

Dip into interstellar travel, maybe?

[–] call_me_xale@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think it pretty much peaked with Operation Jolly Roger, unfortunately.

[–] TheRealKuni@piefed.social 2 points 2 weeks ago

Agreed, but like I said, still a fun ride. I’m excited for the next season.

[–] Die4Ever@retrolemmy.com 3 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah me and my parents love this show

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't double check the science if the story is compelling, but when they break their own rules they lose me.

spoiler___Mars colony. One of the admins is the smartest billionaire ever; they are under surveillance by the KGB, the CIA, and private security. A high school drop out is smuggling gemstones back to Earth, where they are being sold openly, and no one on Mars is aware????

[–] TheRealKuni@piefed.social 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Right. Like I said, less believable as the seasons go on. But still a fun ride.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 3 weeks ago

This isn't 'less believable' so much as it's lazy, unimaginative writing.

Right now I'm almost done with Black Doves [Netflix]

It's completely ridiculous, but there's in-show logic.

This might just be me, but I can't enjoy a show with plot holes that big.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

How can anyone in 2026 say a plot line about world politics is not believable? The Trump administration is not believable.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

About damn time!

Starcity trailer when?

[–] rockandsock@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I love the show even as it's becoming kind of far fetched. I'd love it more if the break between seasons wasn't so damn long.

[–] dev_null@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Just like with every other series, I'll watch it when the last season comes out, and not a single episode earlier. Try it.

[–] rockandsock@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

I do that quite a bit but as a big sci-fi fan I feel like so many sci-fi shows get canceled after one or two seasons I should support them by watching them as they go.

With most other shows I wait until they end.

Isn't Nick Fuentes a producer on this show 👀

[–] Valthorn@feddit.nu 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

A Nicholas Fuentes is indeed a producer, but I don't think it's the same guy as the nazi incel. The nazi incel was born 1998 and producer Nicholas Fuentes has credits on IMDb as early as 2002, working as a graphics coordinator on CSI.
