If someone wants to set one up, I am happy to give technical advise, but right now I can not commit running yet another fediverse instance.

Thank you, I very much appreciate that offer! I'll continue to look out for people interested in sharing the work and your advice would help a lot then!

Zunächst mal bin ich der Herr Laymann, den du siehst... ;-) Aber ja, andere Unterstützung als technische geb ich gerne!
To be fair, I didn't know you were Herr Laymann, but in that case, my comment is aimed at the people asking you to have a piefed instance. :)
What's wrong with Lemmy? I think feddit.org is doing fine.
A lot of relevant discussion in this thread: PieFed vs Lemmy. What say you?
Personally, cross-posting and feeds in browser without any apps is a big plus.
Thank you for the link! I think both do and will co-exist allright. I think sooner or later there will be a German instance, so I'm rooting for sooner and for a solid foundation (like feddit.org) rather than a strenuous & vulnerable one person effort (like feddit.de...)
Feddit.org is great! But for some (potential) communities Piefed's flairs and tags are really great, for example. I think something like that is planned for Lemmy 1.0, tho.
I don't know if the fediverse foundation ever noticed this post. They are more active on Mastodon than Lemmy, maybe ping them there.
That's a possibility, yes. I'm going to suggest a new Community (Piefed) tomorrow, will ping them on that occasion. Thank you!
