He still doesn't damn get it "if those two countries make a deal I'm going to punish my own people." What the flying hell. I know he's stupid and he refuses to learn but damn.

[–] espentan@lemmy.world 50 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He recently, repeatedly said, medicine prices were down by 500, 600 and 3000 percent (and whatever other numbers he made up). The creature doesn't understand even very basic math.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 24 points 1 week ago

Facts don't matter to Trump. Just what he perceives to be the effects of the words he blurts out.

[–] Geobloke@aussie.zone 9 points 1 week ago

It's more childish than that; if i bully them enough they'll have to play with me, what are they gonna do? Find new friends?

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You expect the stupid guy not to do something stupid?

[–] yuknowhokat@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not expect but I do hope that some people will see the stupid and realize and maybe change who they support and follow.

That would be awesome.

[–] muxika@lemmy.world 52 points 1 week ago (2 children)

An empty threat that'll hurt us more than them. That's like an ex threatening to get rid of her own dog.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

But I loved that dog more than her!

[–] 100_kg_90_de_belin@feddit.it 11 points 1 week ago

That's a weird phrasing for Kristi Noem

[–] middlemanSI@lemmy.world 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"If you make a trade deal between yourselves, I will punish the people I represent!! Taco"

[–] yuknowhokat@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

The thing is he doesn't actually represent most of the United States. Most of us are no better than plastic pieces on a game board.

[–] capuccino@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Do whatever you want, Canada. Mexico roots for you.

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 18 points 1 week ago

Graçias, hombre!

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Indeed, do whatever is in your own best interests, Canada, Mexico, and China, the US government is experiencing an unfortunate moment of insanity.

[–] FaceDeer@fedia.io 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's not really a "moment", this is the cumulation of a long-term trend.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Please, define "moment", if you would? Are there any other editorial changes you would like to suggest?

[–] FaceDeer@fedia.io 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The "moment" is the duration of the Trump administration.

Lots of people are keen to blame everything on Trump, imagining that if he would just go away everything would go back to "normal." But Trump is not the cause of this, he is the symptom of this. America has been trending in this direction for many decades now, with increasingly corrupt and authoritarian/isolationist governments that the electorate has been putting into power. It's not going to suddenly reverse if Trump suffers a fatal brain clog tomorrow. There might be a moment of respite but that's not something to depend on as a long-term change for the better, only as breathing room to further prepare for America's continued degradation.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

agreed, if trump keels over the dems will go back to full time whoring for whoever has money and the republicans will go back to racism, home grown terrorism, and fascism-lite until the next fascist leader rises up. Trump is more a symptom than a driver. Even his being evil is based in mediocrity.

[–] Danquebec@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Nos otros tambien, para ustedes!

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 week ago

Correction, Trump threatens US public with increased prices in already struggling economy.

[–] espentan@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You caused this, you dickhead, you.

Not that it's any of your business, either way.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

He can't seem to grasp that the tariffs are the reason people are turning to China. China is a more stable business partner with cheaper goods that are consistently increasing in quality.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 1 week ago (2 children)

SCOTUS could have taken the move and saved us a lot of economic trouble but it's full of Nazis so we're fucked

[–] cley_faye@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

This could be good, except that one move is shooting its own country in the everything.

[–] dermanus@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 week ago

Boy, he got mad once someone explained that speech to him enough times.

Carney answer wss that he'll be focusing on things he can control, which is the right answer. Trump will move on to the next shiny object in a week or two.

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh boy oh boy, it's going to be TACO day again soon!!

[–] PlaidBaron@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The man changes his mind so much Im surprised they havent renamed the White House the Waffle House.

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Well we have NOW.

[–] cley_faye@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I can't wait for a moment where he slip, jumping from the last thing to the next, and use the epstein files as a distraction for something else out of sheer stupidity.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm also waiting for a moment where he slips but that's not how my sentence ends.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I hope it’s on live tv

[–] ShadowRam@fedia.io 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Greenland was last week,

Canada will go this week,

Then some country can reject his board of peace offer, and he can focus on that country next week.

I mean, that's the play here... just bounce him around on different topics on a weekly basis.

We'll be back to Iran at some point... then it will be North Korea, then China, then Windmills, then Elon and SpaceX, then maybe another state/ice situation, then it'll be something who the fuck knows...

[–] dellish@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

So long as no one is focussing on Epstein, thats the main thing.

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Nooooo, not the windmills again. We have way too high electricity prices and need our wind farms to come online.

Let taco don Quixote be a nightmare of the past.

Mother fucker still doesn't know how tariffs work.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Threatening our second biggest supplier of trade and our #1 provider of nearby raw materials is not going to end well for us. Doesnt seem very clever.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

Is it TACO Tuesday already?

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Related: Old man needs glasses to read the writing on the wall

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 week ago

There is no evidence that he can read.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 4 points 1 week ago

He's illiterate, he can't read or understand words. Glasses won't help. Also, he is currently the dumbest human on planet Earth right now.

[–] Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Big fat Canadian yawn

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Trump is so useless

[–] palarith@aussie.zone 1 points 1 week ago

Two more year?

I do hope you guys still have a country by then
