Hm.. I disabled it by using ddg.

annything but google is an improvement but none deserve a recommendation.

ddg is just bing with privacy features but still cozy with microsoft and allows some of their trackers.

Bing itself, does not need introducing as not being a good alternative.

Startpage is to google what ddg is to bing.

Searxng.. being open source so you can check yourself if it doesn’t have trackers might be an improvement but if you are not self hosting it can you trust who is not to run custom snoopers? And if you do self host it… its still obtaining results from google and bing your as anonymous as the server ip.

As a ddg user who regularly recognizes that the core functionality is flatly worse than google, startpage sounds like a great option, assuming it allows disabling AI. Searxng also sounds worth investigating further. Thanks for the rundown on all of these!

How many times do we have you say it? Neither chorizo nor cum in the paella. Artichokes are OK.

Why are they just standing there in like waist deep grass?

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 13 points 17 hours ago

It's a scene from Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones.

Here we see the characters Anakin Skywalker (left) and Padme Amidala (right) sitting in a field while on the planet of Naboo, Amidala's home planet. Anakin is poorly hitting on her like the awkward teenager he is.

However, instead of referencing sexual fluids, he is speaking in reference to the overall system of governance that the Republic has become.

I am not trying to be condescending so please don't take my extended explanation as such, I just assume you have no idea what any of it is since you asked a question that would be answered if you had seen and remembered the movie at some point.

They are sitting and it is nipple high. Typically the height of grass is described by the part of the body it touches whilst standing though. We can only extrapolate here, but likely this would be be called knee high grass.
