Pugly, an apt name
Dull Men's Club
An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.
1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.
3. Avoid repetitive topics.
4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.
Some other communities to consider before posting:
5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

"My dad can beat your dad"

It was very disheartening when I heard the gas mileage for the new mail trucks. The old ones got 8-9 mpg. The new ones were supposed to be a little over 14... Until they turn the AC on, and it apparently goes back down to 8.6mpg.
With most of the country getting hot enough to need ac so often... Ouch
The good news is that the old ones got 8-9 and didn't even have AC, so this is still an upgrade. Additionally the frame is designed to be upgradeable to an EV and slightly under half the the order is for EVs (which are really good at stop and go driving)
The real shame is that Workhorse was a company that made a very competitive and detailed bid for an all electric fleet and basically got snubbed by USPS for some defense contractor that isn't even delivering (90 units made as of Dec2025?). Classic corruption.
How the heck is the ac that much of a draw?
No idea, they even self reported it below.
"As of 2021, USPS reported a baseline of 14.7 mpg for NGDVs powered by gasoline, which decreased to 8.6 mpg when operating onboard air conditioning—LLVs do not have air conditioning, though it is expected to be a standard feature for NGDVs."
That’s crazy. My car I can’t tell; I’d have to have a standard route without traffic to test the impact of AC it’s so small. That’s talking about almost halving the efficiency.
I had no idea AC could have that big of an impact until I was reading about those vehicles. I always figured it would be like 26mpg, turn on the AC, 25 or something
Giving some real vibes

You, errm, 👉👈 you.. got any pics of the back end? 😳
Me Gusta

Another goofy looking bonus plane

Damn, the cirrus vision catching strays.
As a dull man, I flew one of these around the world completing over 90 XC flights - in MSFS.
I find both planes pictured very attractive. 👍
Hey, 90 msfs flights is more than I have in it. More power to ya!
It's called "pugley". What'd you expect?
... This is like something I would build in KSP with FAR, as a joke.
I love it!
Also, reminds me (kinda) of Tacit Blue:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Tacit_Blue

Man, that thing really is built like they put a 10 year old in a room with a bunch of cardboard boxes and duct tape and asked them to make a plane. Must have decent engines to overcome all of that drag.
Now...that's how you make a box aero dynamic...finish it off with a nipple nose.
Frumpy? She's beautiful. Thicc
There seems to be an abnormal growth on the side of the plane, should probably get that checked out. If anything it's definitely degrading the fuel efficiency.
Do you mean the redacted children?
Ah yes, the one that featured in the famous movie "Space Balls".
