That’s what geocities and angelfire were like in a lot of ways. You’d just start browsing and then start coming across the weirdest fucking websites. And porn. Lots of porn. So so much porn. And occasionally something that was just fascinating.
People Mastodon
People tooting stuff. We allow toots from anyone and are platform agnostic (Mastodon, BlueSky, Twitter, Tumblr, FaceBook, Whatever)
The Dead Internet Theory is that the majority of traffic is bots, so of course people are going to point to the handful of websites that comprise 90% of Internet traffic. It doesn't matter if your blog is 100% humans if it only gets visited by 0.001%.
I wish these posts would have at least one resource the author uses to find communities. If you want people to stop going to centralized sites then spread information about alternatives.
We need a Yahoo! for the Internet sites that have survived the zombie Internet apocalypse.
But, if you make noise, the zombies will follow you there. It's a dilemma.
Brrrraaaaiiiinnnsssss!
Same with games, same with movies, same with music etc, etc. People only look in the least original spaces and then whine about unoriginal content. Self defeating.
Humans fucking suck, Web 2.0 is a failed experiment.
