Do they understand that that's not, like... The morally correct thing to do. It's not good manners, or a legal requirement, or whatever else. It's a recommendation based on maximising your safety, and Omar is a politician with, unusually in the USA/for a liberal politician, an actual spine. What's even the point of bringing it up now. If you really, desperately want to do an own on her you could say she was setting a bad example (I disagree but the logic is there) but failing that... WTF are you trying to achieve.
