The fans of "alcoholic deadbeat cop living in a post-soviet nation desperately trying to survive and find meaning" story will love our generic spy thriller, totally why they read multiple books worth of text, it's so they can self-insert as the genius detective!

The lack of inspiration from the title is also funny to read. To go from "Disco Elysium" to "ZERO PARADES DEAD SPIES" is going from subtle lighting to fuckin christmas lights everywhere.

People who fundamentally don't understand why it was good and think it's just that people like Red Scare esque vibes and think they can capture more of the same lightning in a bottle with the standard Cold War spy story formula?

All that fighting over the studio just to end up as the Hallmark of games

And ZA/UM knows a thing or two about broken networks!

Kind of interesting that they specify Disco Elysium - The Final Cut. Is there a legal reason behind that?

It's probably some order from the CEO to use the exact product name in all official media or something like that

And avoiding association with the earlier iteration that featured the Chapo boys will-fancyadmiral-biedermanvirgil-phonepartiotism

Somehow I never knew they were in it, or that they were replaced in the final cut

They were pretty obvious if you were a chapo listener because they were some of the very few voice actors in the game. Most of it was unvoiced.

Virgil was actually pretty good as far as I remember

Is this made by the actual developers of the original game? Or is this by the studio that fired them all after they made the studio a ton of money?

From what I understand, Kurvitz and Co are working on a game called Red Info with Netease in China and they endorsed the team who did Rue Valley.

Anything else is the money people.

that's so cool they got Chinese funding for their next game.

It's ZA/UM so I think that means basically no one who worked on Disco Elysium is involved

But I'm not 100% sure because the whole thing imploded into some inscrutable spaghetti mess

[–] CredibleBattery@hexbear.net 8 points 2 weeks ago

Justin Keenan, who worked on the game but wasn't part of the core group still remains at the company, that's about it. kill ZA/UM

[–] hollowmines@hexbear.net 15 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I for one hope the game is good.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 10 points 2 weeks ago

I for one hope it's a trashfire because it's better for these corporate plagiarists to crash and burn

[–] Fuckstain@hexbear.net 9 points 2 weeks ago

that would be funny as hell, the studio would detonate in a million irretrievable scraps
