Whenever we see Kanar portrayed in the show it's always a thick viscous liquid for something most humans would consider a drink. But it occurred to me that the vast majority of the times we see it, it's not in the normal Cardassian environment. Cardassians like it much warmer than Humans and Bajorans. Would Kanar be less viscous on Cardasia than we see it on DS9? Even most instances when we see it on Cardassia, the founder is very sick and demanding the temperature be turned down in the facility.

Damar drinks it often on Cardassia Prime in season 7, and it seems pretty viscous there.

one of my favorite notes in the linked article is that the guy playing damar constantly got sugar highs from actually drinking the corn syrup they used in the kanar props.

I commented on that as well, the founder is always making them turn down the temperature in the facility.

Oh shit, that's a good point, because it's drying her out.

There are some drinks that humans like which are more viscous than others. This includes items like port wine and hot chocolate. You also have stews and gravies which use various thickening agents like okra or a roux.

I kind of think that Kanar is like an intoxicating gravy. You know, that might help out with American Thanksgiving.

Maple syrup, or honey

...dammit, that's a good thought.
