Melbcat has been eating a little and peed but still seems a bit flat and sort of groans and sighs as if in discomfort. Getting her seen.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 hours ago

Date went way better than expected. Conversation was easy. Food was good. Umbrellas broke and we had a laugh.

He thought I seemed overstimulated at a point so he took me to a quiet place and we sat and listened to music. I didn't even have to say a word! I want to be at least half the person he is. He's so in tune, more in tune with my body than I am! He could just tell. I guess it was the body language. I was probably avoiding eye contact then overcorrecting it, and scanning the room and laughing nervously.

I hope I can be to him how he is to me.

Thanks all for the nice comments. I love this place. You all are wonderful people and I love coming on here and getting a glimpse into your lives!! πŸ’•πŸ₯°

That's really great to hear. After it seemed like you were really reluctant with the last couple of dates it seems like this guy is really clicking for you

[–] LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 1 points 36 minutes ago

Took the words right out of my mouth :)

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 points 4 hours ago

"In the end, it was the Sunday afternoons he couldn't cope with, and that terrible listlessness which starts to set in at about 2:55, when you know that you've had all the baths you can usefully have that day, that however hard you stare at any given paragraph in the papers you will never actually read it, or use the revolutionary new pruning technique it describes, and that as you stare at the clock the hands will move relentlessly on to four o'clock, and you will enter the long dark teatime of the soul."

Ah Douglas Adams, how I miss you.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 points 3 hours ago

I keep getting emails at work about the iCloud storage on my work phone filling up and it's just like, 'um, I never asked you to do that'

Girls weekend was a great success!! My voice is hoarse from so much talking along... and 4 hours of singing at Piano Bar last night. The only tears were ones of feeling uplifted and supported (at 3:30am after a lot of alcohol).

The loaf of meat is underway

[–] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 4 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

I think I've started something ...

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I bought mince for spag Bol but I have been thinking about meatloaf ever since you suggested it!

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

I might do that scotch egg meat loaf recipe once the weather gets a little cooler

I also have to practice making pho

[–] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I’m easily influenced by the mere suggestion of baked meat products

Moar meatloaf! There can never be too much meatloaf.

In Ballarat it is very, very still. Which is quite rare here, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 7 points 10 hours ago

I finally got around to hanging a couple of pictures and installing my video doorbell. It's only taken 9 months.

One of the pictures is a print of an Australian landscape painting. It's nice, but doesn't really suit my house decor, so I've hung it in the garage.

Some cunt must be on a meth bender cos I can hear bass and it hasn't stopped since last night. It isn't even a clean bass, it's reverberating and it sounds shit. My ears have had enough.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 6 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

The natural enemy of the crack head is sirens.

Just throwing it out there.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I think they're torturing someone in there. Why else would you have the bass so high with the garage door down, playing the same shitty music over and over?

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

Crack is a hell of a drug lol

But in all seriousness: there's a thing called "meth time" where 3 hours feels like 15 minutes.

And there's that whole thing where crack heads will do stupid repetitive shit because they're stuck in the "crack zone".

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

This makes a lot of sense.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

lol.

Almost the same as the natural deterrent of loitering kids is classical music.

I remember the maccas in camberwell did that and it worked lol.

They did that at North Richmond station at one point but smack heads are too doped out to notice lol

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 points 8 hours ago

Sorry we have no clue what this means. Hope you're ok.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 9 hours ago

sorry 😳

No more curried eggs for you!

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 5 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Greensborough Plaza is a shithole with nothing to draw you there, but there is a banh mi place pretending to be a regular sandwich shop and a Chinese food place pretending to be a regular takeaway. Get that bag if it works

[–] phant@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Totally haha. We hit up the ramen place before the cinema sometimes. It's good. And we now bring earplugs to the hoyts πŸ˜† coz it's fucken loud az.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 points 9 hours ago

We were there for this dinosaur event they had on and they were just letting people in. There were no signs to nit touch the animatronic dinosaur displays and they couldn't stop people anyway because there were only two girls working there and they were flat out preparing wooden dinosaur cutouts to paint.

And by the time you were done you just had this wet painted plywood dinosaur on a stand, paint pots, and a wet paintbrush to carry around with you. The kids had fun but there was no thought beyond just getting people in the door

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Real slim chance but does anyone have an iPhone 12 or 13 that's sitting on ios version 17.0 they want to sell?

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 1 points 4 hours ago

Are you also finding the recent updates giving you a lot of grief?

Mine is like 6 years old but unfortunately I have updated to the crap versions and still use it for everything

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 10 hours ago

I have a 7 with a half dead battery?

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

the beach pictures from yesterday πŸ™‚Just the usual, a big jelly fish, shells, a shark egg, an angling float. The cork fishing net float is a rare find, they were used in the 60s , cork lasts very well

Second date today. Kind of shitting myself but what’s the worst that can happen?

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 7 points 13 hours ago

Well, shitting yourself would be up there I reckon. So might as well chill 😁

You realise maybe you don't have chemistry.

You take the confidence you earned from going through with this, and use it to keep moving forward if you feel ready.

I have a friend from high school, he has a wife, 3 kids, just bought a nice place to live. I have a shitload of respect for this guy. Probably the person I respect the most.

He was recently promoted and messaged me because he had a bit of a crisis adjusting to the new role.

I sent him a 5ish minute voice message, and spent the evening helping him get a hang of how to manage the new role.

It's an incredible feeling when you can help someone that you really respect, despite your own failings.
