Tom Tate has a history of being an utter whore for real estate developers.
He'd slather himself in horse diarrhea with a smile on his face if he thought it would get him a new bribe.
But an association with Trump might shock enough people to give him a hard chance to get re-elected.
So he's probably considering if he can get a big enough bribe to retire so it doesn't matter if he doesn't get back in.

Why are they using the developer's boastful claim as the article title? They could have gone with a neutral title stating that the development was being considered, or even negative title quoting someone who says it is a horrible idea. I wonder why they chose to use the positive quote like that...
I suppose maybe the answer to my question is that journalism is often now about being provocative rather than informative. By stoking people's emotions (usually anger), you get more engagement - which is apparently the only metric that matters these days.
This is so embarrassing for all the Australian oligarchs. In their own backyard. Gina must be fuming! I can only imagine what Lowy must be thinking with his basket on a chopstick in the sky. I suppose its a stranded basket now.
