Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Honestly, that probably one of the tamer things in those files.

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 3 points 25 minutes ago* (last edited 23 minutes ago)

Are you familiar with the documents in the files claiming he tried to source antibiotics for something he "caught" from those underage Russian girls, with intention of also secretly slipping his wife the same antibiotics for the STI he likely gave to her? https://www.btimesonline.com/articles/176578/20260201/epstein-files-reveal-bill-gates-caught-an-std-and-asked-for-antibiotics-to-give-wife-melinda-in-secret.htm

What a guy. /sarcasm /notsorry

If we were in a different "sub", I'd also now post a photograph of a wooden assembly using a heavy, sharpened piece of metal that uses gravity to powerfully remove things from other things, but the mods here have previously educated me to the fact they do not allow that. >.>

Oh…ok… now off to jail with ya!

For (likely) sleeping with very young girls.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 4 points 37 minutes ago (1 children)

Jumping to conclusions isn't wise

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 1 points 29 minutes ago* (last edited 28 minutes ago)

EDIT: I goofed and thought the person above answered to me

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 3 points 43 minutes ago* (last edited 15 minutes ago) (1 children)

Can you show me proof of that? Mila Antanova was in early 20s, not below 20 I forgot the age of that nuclear physicist, but there is zero proof of him sleeping with minors.

Besides, I recently got heavily downvoted on Lemmy for saying that tall grown men look weird when dating women that I cannot tell if they're over 18, but my opinion on the matter aside, objectively he did not really break any laws, besides marriage.

[–] Cantaloupe@lemmy.fedioasis.cc 1 points 18 minutes ago

but there is zero proof of him sleeping with minors.

Not yet...

Forgive me for jumping to a conclusion like this, but lots of the proof still remains buried, obscured, and redacted, and any guy who willingly associates with Epstein for an "affair" is automatically a suspect in my eyes.

[–] pimpampoom@lemmy.zip 2 points 59 minutes ago

The more we advance in this whole mess the more he is confessing. It’s not long before we learn he abused kids. Put him in prison

It's normal if it's gross for you, these things come with time; once you get puberty you'll start to understand

EDIT: Do I really need the /j here?

[–] Cantaloupe@lemmy.fedioasis.cc 1 points 9 minutes ago

You know that is not what the user meant.

[–] Tedesche@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

I think the assumption is that they were underage, trafficked women.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 11 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Stop calling them "underage women". Adopting the apologist language used by the news media is what the pedo cult wants.

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub -2 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Assumptions can be dangerous and make you look like an idiot. There has been zero proof that Gates was involved with minors and I'm not going to go that far until there is at least something pointing to it besides the fact that he met with Eipstein.

[–] luciferofastora@feddit.org 5 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Epstein was more than a child trafficker. He dealt in information, blackmail material and financial... "services", as I understand it. Having been had contact with him isn't immediate proof of any specific crime, because his portfolio is so wide, and also because I imagine a snake like him will have slithered into many places the high and wealthy congregate.

The question then is the extent and nature of the connections. On one hand, I'm all for being cautious about assuming guilt.

On the other, this is a billionaire we're talking about. I find myself less charitable with good will when it comes to parasites of that caliber.

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 2 points 32 minutes ago

Exactly. Blackmail.

I suggest you actually do some deeper reading into this whole mess. I got too bored and the image completely changed for me. It's way deeper and and Occam's razor is not going to work here. Eipstein really did a lot of blackmailing, it was already proven that some emails were straight up fabricated.

That aside - it is now known who the two women were, and Bill did not met them thru Eipstein, neither were they underage. The whole Eipstein mess actually came after these two women.

[–] Tedesche@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

I agree. Just clarifying why I think people are calling for him to go to prison.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 58 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

"I never knew the man."

"Okay I knew him but only casually."

"Okay we hung out a bit."

"Okay I spent time on his rape island but didn't partake."

"Okay I had consensual sex with women there."

You are here.

"Okay they were trafficked sex victims and it was rape."

"Okay they were children."

[–] bigFab@lemmy.world 11 points 8 hours ago

... "Okay we ate the children to dispose of the evidence."

[–] ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk 7 points 7 hours ago

And all the while Elon Musk was outside the window, begging to be let in on the sex parties.

Poor guy.

[–] MortUS@lemmy.world 52 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (12 children)

I don't clear Gates for falling in with Epstein, but this dude is clearly the fall guy for the tech sector. From old media to social media.

It wasn't Gates at the front of the inauguration: Meta, Amazon, Google, Twitter. DJT kept all his Epstein stooges close, that's a consistent. These folx also are all mysteriously missing from the Epstein files.

Gates is just the easiest target because Microsoft is the enemy of where The Big 4 want the tech sector to go.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 12 points 8 hours ago

This scenario isn't really useful as a 'fall guy'. He's just one of many, his culpability does nothing to detract from anyone else's culpability. In fact, his admissions reinforce the substance of the Epstein files and strengthen any allegations that stem from them about others.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 25 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Or maybe it's because Gates is not a CEO anymore?

[–] MortUS@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

I don't think it matters. He's most commonly associated with Microsoft, so that's what people will associate his actions with when they see / hear him brought up.

"his 27-year marriage with two Russian women"

I didn't know that was even legal.

[–] ecvanalog@lemmy.world 40 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Both “affairs” and “women” doing some heavy lifting here.

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 1 points 5 hours ago

There is more proof of him sleeping with two Russian women than there is any proof of him getting involved with minors

[–] Bazoogle@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

He admits to the affairs, but denies they had any relation to Epstein. He also denies having any relation or awareness to any of Epstein's sex crimes. Idk if he's telling the truth, or if he is doing a partial admission to make it seem as though he is not lying

[–] jve@lemmy.world 34 points 18 hours ago (4 children)

Bill really nearly whitewashed away all the horrible business practices and cutthroat shit he did in the 80s and 90s with the Gates Foundation.

But man, he looks like he aged a shitload in the short while since all the Epstein stuff really came to light.

The photo in the above article is at least 4 years old. It's used in this Forbes article from Nov '21, where it's captioned "Bill Gates attends the World Leaders' Summit at COP26 on November 2, 2021, in Glasgow, Scotland".

He is still doing shitty stuff. He bailed out Monsanto with a big investment, and is a big proponent of their herbicides and proprietary round up ready seeds, and owns, what is it 5 or approaching 10% of farmland in the US to use it on.

He's big into geo engineering, trying to get governments to agree to let them spray masses of sulphur dioxide in the upper atmosphere to blot out the sun, totally not a Mr. Burns move. As if he knows the unintended consequences that could result, or as if other countries that would be affected agreed to it, to say nothing of the wildlife, (ie test projects have already shown in the westerh hemisphere it will make africa drier.)

What else, he intervened in covid vaccines to prevent a not for profit open source vaccine. The very idea horrified him somehow. He seems like he's trying to do good sometimes and does evil. He has a case of billionairism where everyone around him agrees with everything he says and he thinks the laser light of knowledge shines out of his ass.

[–] SalmiakDragon@feddit.nu 7 points 13 hours ago

he thinks the laser light of knowledge shines out of his ass

Pure poetry, love this.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 15 points 15 hours ago

Yeah, never trust billionaires who are all talk about being charitable and yet their net worth hadn't even gone down significantly. They're still billionaires.
