RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

I've just found out the flashing lights in my left eye won't ever go away again.

Woo, aging and having terrible eyesight.

A tiny woman who often asks if the black belts are letting her throw them (yes, we're being useful for learning) had just enough of the basics to start giving her more complicated details that make a big difference. It was really enjoyable seeing how much fun she was having when she felt effective.

I've also been sleeping so much better the past few nights. I got some bone conduction headphones so I can listen to something while sleeping without disturbing my partner or my ears getting funky from being closed off. It helps with masking her snoring and keeps my brain from being bored and seeking stimulation if I wake up in the night. They're slightly uncomfortable and the volume doesn't go as quiet as I'd like, but I'll deal with that for the upsides.

So in rhythm games people usually have steady skill progression until they hit a skill "wall", where people can spend months (or years) without notable improvements... I've gone over a wall during a BMS (a rhythm game, kind of) play session 8 days ago. Last week I seem to have been improving my skills on a daily basis... so all is good

Also on related matter: someone invited me to a local rhythm game group in the Netherlands a few months back, just realized they have a few folks who play the same games as me. I'll see if I can plan a small vacation to go back to NL again...

... oh and the weather is getting warmer I guess

Got my bike serviced on Tuesday. It desperately needed it. Turned out the seatpost was literally collapsing! Cost me a pretty penny, but it's so nice having a bike back in good condition.

Have also just started sorting the logistics to play Jet Lag: Hide + Seek (a city-wide hide & seek game played using public transport—see !nebula@lemmy.world for more) in late April. Am very excited.
