I don't think you can trust France to defend anyone once the far-right pro-Russian party takes over. Every country with the capability should be build their own nukes.

Smart.

Slip one to Palestine so we can get the Gaza War ended. Mutually-assured destruction is the only deterrent that will work.

Considering that their evangelical armageddon prophecy is why they're doing all this blood sacrifice, MAD is exactly what they're after. I think we have forgotten that we haven't come far at all from the religious zealotry that ran and continues to run our world.

I love it. We need to watch out for each other. We certainly can't rely on the US anymore, even though some politicians haven't accepted this new reality yet.

Both Americans and Europeans should agree on the fact that europe don't need American help to defend itself. American presidents have urged us for decades to spend more on defense, albeit by purchasing american made arms. Trump and his stupidly blunt policies have basically forced our hands, but at the cost of soft american power. We are currently arming Europe, but not with American arms. Long term, the effects of his presidency will drastically strengthen Europe, but not for the benefit of America.

Hate people are cheering on warmongering destruction of the planet and massive militarization by Macron and Merz as if they aren't both neoliberal imperialism shills who enjoy oppressing refugees for fun.

"We should simply let imperialist tyrants do whatever they want!"

France has been lending out nukes for ages already.

The hell? Is 290 not enough?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

Not when we (The US) have 1200-6500

[–] choui4@lemmy.zip -2 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Give one to Iran. They need it to stop the terrorists.

[–] IrateAnteater@sh.itjust.works 19 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Wait, are we pretending that the Iranian government are good people now?

[–] Luminous5481@anarchist.nexus 13 points 13 hours ago

No, but we aren’t pretending the US are good people either.

[–] choui4@lemmy.zip 8 points 13 hours ago

The Iranian government? No. The people, OF COURSE! You know who the best people to deal with Iranian problems, are?

[–] middlemanSI@lemmy.world 14 points 15 hours ago

Bad people can get attacked by terrorists.

[–] northernlights@lemmy.today -2 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (3 children)

You mean the guys who when under attack just fired at civilian targets in nearby countries that didn't attack them? Yeah... no.

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip 20 points 16 hours ago

Sounds like the primary targets were US bases and some allied infrastructure targets like oil production facilities. The article mentions one missile struck a residential area after being intercepted. So unlike Israel, they're not targeting schools and hospitals.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (2 children)

that is bog standard behavior though; the US did it this week.

give iran nuclear power generation and bombs and tell the US to get its bases the fuck back to its own country.

[–] northernlights@lemmy.today 2 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

Oh I'm not saying the US and Israel are the good guys either. It's just bad guys against bad guys dragging us all in their pissing contests.

[–] choui4@lemmy.zip 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

If thats what youre saying, then you agree with me.

Forget it. I was hours out of date here.

[–] Luminous5481@anarchist.nexus 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I can’t tell without looking at that link if you’re talking about Israel or the US.

[–] northernlights@lemmy.today 2 points 12 hours ago

I know right. Bad guys against bad guys.
