Ive put 5 hours into it so far and like another 5 in the demo and I gotta say if you can afford it this is one to buy.

On a scale from 0.000% to 0.001%, how much communism do you build in it?

well, there is an election going on, and one of the parties is pro worker, but i haven't gotten that far yet

I only got to play it for a couple hours after work tonight but I can already tell this game will be very much My Shit. I just talked to a little demon lawyer about the laws around resurrection spells, the death penalty, and expectations about DIP (Death in Perpetuity). And I can keep asserting to people that I'm The Cleric.

I played the demo and I was very, very impressed. It's really fun and well written, and feels much closer in spirit to Disco Elysium than Zero Parades.

Zero Parades

I didn't know the demo for that was out!

[–] joaomarrom@hexbear.net 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

it is, and it's an incredibly mid game, feels like a poor copy of Disco while Esoteric Ebb feels fresh, exciting and like it goes beyond being just a "Disco-like", for lack of a better term

heard chef, just doesn't have that sauce.

My first impression on playing the demo is that there's really something special about this one, both in terms of the writing and the gameplay.

I gotta admit i lost track of the DE "spiritual successors", is this related to a fraction of the original staff in any way like the other 4 games i can think of or is that an entirely unrelated studio making a disco-like?

The description reads like a Planescape Torment × Disco Elysium thing

Plus a healthy dose of Terry Pratchett.

Oh this looked very good when I checked it out. I’ll likely be buying

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

Looks really quite promising.

Man, it's been a while since I bought a game on launch day.
