Sabotage is pointing to shit everyone can already see, apparently

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Everyone saw how trump was openly hostile to every Americans way of life. Didn't feel obligated to point in that direction?

[–] anarchiddy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Obligated? No. Did we do it anyway? Sure. Did it make people feel any better about Kamala? Apparently not.

You ever think, youre not so tacit disapproval of kamala might have had some effect there?

[–] anarchiddy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

So she lost because she was shit, and not enough people pretended otherwise?

And that's... sabotage?

[–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago

She needed no help, let's be honest.

People like OP just want to take all criticism of her as a reason for her loss. Ironically, literally all major criticism of her was directed at trying to get her to change her position away from the the Biden admin because we didn't want Trump to win. Biden was not popular and she basically ran on "I'm more of the same".

They're too stupid. They literally think that "change your position on X or you're gonna lose" was a threat. No, it was advice to win. They didn't listen.

She didn't lose because leftist didn't vote for her. We did. She lost because normies stayed home.

If that many leftist existed in this country. We'd have formed a vanguard by now. I wish I lived in this delusional world that OP lived in where leftist could sway the politics of this country in the way OP thinks we can.

Just an out of touch liberal stuck arguing with "leftist" on Twitter.

The ones campaigning for this woman to lose even if it means ICE in the streets rounding up people for the concentration camps aren't leftists. Those people are motivated by anger and hate more than compassion. And compassion is the fundamental value of the left.

Is this some kind of centrist "meme"??

Trump was sane-washed constantly, and his fascist siege on the White House was downplayed across the board. Trump ran on being the "Peace President" and his claim "Kamala will send your sons into WW3" got echoed across the media landscape. The real problem is USA voters were financially miserable and are stupid enough to believe an insurrectionist is going to fix that. An accelerant to that problem is that our media landscape (𝕏, cable TV, and now Ellison's aquisitions) is run by pedo Nazis, for pedo Nazis.

To those claiming "lefties...actively sabotage[d]" Kamala's campaign... how!? Kamala got votes; it's just Trump got more; and looking at the landscape around us, that makes sense.

When I hear this claim that Harris could have won, it always comes back to the rational details that make Kamala the better candidate. I voted for her, and believed she would easily win, for all those reasons; But we do not live in a rational climate.

I get why some still refuse to believe that fact—We're all worn down and hurt, and the understanding that the people around you are stupid racist morons is not a pleasant view to have. That has implications outside of politics and headlines. That means your schoolteachers, coworkers, neighbors, doctors, police are stupid racist morons; And that is the reality of our nation, if not humanity.

Kamala didn't lose because "Lefties" criticized her stance on Israel. The Democrats lost because 40% of the population got hooked on AI short-form deepfakes of black and brown folks causing chaos in public; 30-second clips and 3-hour podcasts whining about "woke entitled feminists" disguised as "dating advice" and "men's mental health" content; cutesy cottagecore vibe content of "Little House on the Prairie" cosplayers; and Men With Microphones yapping Straight Up Lies through the working folk's morning car commute. And this whole scene started well before 2024.

Good post, have 1 upvote.

The political climate is aiming for the lowest common denominator, and it's working. Cambridge Analytica helped. There are a lot of racist pieces of shit in the United States

Not american, but come on. Americans preferred a incoherent, rambling, (highly probable) rapist, felon, coup-inciting, and obvious authoritarian fascist over her. The US was already lost.

If I was an American I would've voted for her, even as a leftist, even if the democrats also support genocide.

[–] _chris@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'd say Liberals and not leftists but YMMV. "They" also did it to Bernie first. We'd be in a much better place right now if that never happened.

[–] DoubleDongle@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I didn't. I learned my lesson after Clinton and I didn't actually hate Harris anyway. Nobody I know bailed on her either. I think she just failed to capture the middle, mostly.
