The problem with allying with Trump is he will always cast you aside at his earliest convenience.

While trump will throw anyone under any bus, I wouldn’t put it past Pete to get drunk and tell trump what would REALLY solve his problems 🥴 and everyone knows trump does what the last person he talked to told him to.

Before arriving in Memphis Monday, Trump claimed the U.S. could not have anticipated Iran’s response to the strikes, telling reporters: “Look at the way Iran attacked unexpectedly all of those countries surrounding them. That was not supposed to – nobody was even thinking about it.”

But Reuters has previously reported that the president was warned that precisely that could happen should he attack.

Stupid and a liar.

“Look at the way Iran attacked unexpectedly all of those countries surrounding them. That was not supposed to – nobody was even thinking about it.”

Literally EVERYBODY was thinking about it! We've been dealing with this version of Iran for 50 years. We've seen them trade missiles with Israel countless times. It was easily the most predictable response to attacking them, but he stands there and claims NOBODY expected it.

That's MAGA for you. They are so stupid, that they literally don't know how a war plan works with steps, anticipating your enemies response, and strategies to counter it.

MAGA doesn't think beyond the first step, the Blow Shit Up Stage, because that's wicked cool. No need to consider anything beyond that, because theyll obliterate all the threats, and then the people will kill all their leaders, and create a White Christian Nationalist Theocracy, and worship Trump along with Jesus.

Instead, we got: "Did you see that big explosion? WICKED COOL!... Wait! They're firing missiles back? They can't do that, we obliterated them! We obliterated everything! They weren't supposed to do that! Nobody could have predicted that, they were OBLITERATED!"

"I don't think that word means what you think it means."

My concern is that it is only a matter of time before Trump feels that the world does not give him enough respect, and decides that dropping a nuclear bomb will force the world to bow down to him and his Amerikkkan state. All his MAGA chuds are constantly saying things like "wipe them off the map," and he has no ability to think past his own efforts to seek immediate gratification. Sadly, I think this is definitely coming.

I really think, or maybe it's just Hope, that at that point, someone will just say No.

There were a couple of times when the Soviets ordered a nuclear launch in response to a false signal, and the lower level grunt that had to push the button, refused to do it. I sure do HOPE we have a guy like that making the decision not to end the world at the Pedophile-In-Chief's demand.

"he would never do that" - MAGA "They deserved to be bombed" -also MAGA

[–] Asfalttikyntaja@sopuli.xyz 3 points 6 days ago

That’s exactly my thought too.

Naturally Republicans will never even consider the fact that if their leader is never wrong and everyone around him are the ones always fucking up, then maybe, just maybe, their leader is incompetent and an absolutely horrible judge of character/expertise...

He made sure to establish that Hegseth made the call. When it comes time to throw someone under the bus, Hegseth is all teed up, and ready to go.

But I doubt he'll fire him unless he feels he has to. Trump knows that when it comes time for the military to fire on American Citizens, Hegseth won't hesitate to give the order. That's a useful idiot right there, you don't want to squander that important asset.

this title seems misleading to me. I don't really see the blame shift happening.

Iran needs better PR people, because people not working for the US government but acting as heavily conflicted mediators said they had talks that went perfectly? Who is the one who needs better people?

[–] homes@piefed.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I wonder how much of that is true

It sounds plausible to me - the part about Hegseth, not the part about negotiations going well. (Although maybe Trump's people are telling him that negotiations are going well.)
