I keep pressing the volume up button, but this number next to it just keeps changing colors while adding one and then subtracting one. This record player is buggy as hell.

I need a saga. What's the saga?

That drum intro is so awesome

Dave Grohl drummed for this album

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

And in my opinion it is his best drumming performance by a bit. So many iconic parts and such Animal from muppets vibe as he pounds the shit out of the drums.

[–] barooboodoo@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago

Definitely a top 5 drumming album for me, he beats the absolute shit out of those drums.

Dave Grohl might be there. I don't know. He might be anywhere. The guy's awesome, and he's unpredictable.

Hope you played it extremely loud. Great album.

It sounds incredible.

Love this album. It's one of the first ones I got when I decided that I wanted to have a physical music collection instead of just using Youtube all the time. I just have a CD unfortunately, not on vinyl. That album art looks great at its full, vinyl record size.

Does it have the title embossed in braille on it ?

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Disappointingly, it does not.

My copy of Kendrick’s To Pimp A Butterfly has braille on it though. Pretty sure that is the only one in my collection.

that's a nice record player

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thank you, I’m still very much learning about them and this is just the second I’ve owned, but I like it a lot. It’s direct drive just in case I learn to scratch I guess.

it is the same one i have and i enjoy it. my one regret is i have not figured out the auto turn off the record arm thingy if it has one.

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Very much same and I almost bought a new one with the auto off but the guy at the audio store was a good long term salesman because he told me it would be in all other ways a downgrade that I would likely regret. so I’m just living with that for now.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

yeah, i like the ritual but it's been a few years and I'm kind of wanting the auto off now, but eh. i like the player a lot.

[–] deacon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Same but I’m even more impatient because it’s only been 6 months, haha

I really to value the ritual of playing records in general though. Auto-play or not.
