Welcome to AltMedia House.

I founded this community to assist in the democratization of media by promoting voices that are suppressed in mainstream media publications, especially pro-Palestinian voices.

This community is 'AltMedia' in the Mearsheimer and Walt sense. Not the Richard Spencer sense.

This community likes John Mearsheimer, Stephen Walt, Alison Weir, Edward Said, Rashid Khalidi, Ilan Pape, Norm Finkelstein, Grant Smith, Chris Hedges, Robert Scheer, Ray McGovern, Larry Johnson, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, Col. Douglas MacGregor, Max Blumenthal, Anya Parampil, Alastair Crooke, Chas Freeman, Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, Aaron Mate, Phil Giraldi, Matt Hoh, Karen Kwiatkowski, Kevork Almassian, Chief Dennis Fritz, Craig Murray, Scott Horton, Andrew Napolitano, Ali Abunimah, Nora Barrows-Friedman, Jon Elmer, Asa Winstanley, Daniel Davis, Nima Alkhorshid, Pascal Lottaz, Seymour Hersh, Glenn Greenwald, Krystal Ball, Saagar Enjeti, Jeremy Scahill, Ryan Grim, George Galloway, Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, John Kiriakou, and everyone proximal to this group.

News outlets we like: the Cradle, Grayzone, MondoWeiss, Antiwar.com, Mintpress, Jacobin, Middle East Monitor, Middle East Eye, Al Jazeera, Information Liberation, israelpalestinenews.org, Electronic Intifada, Drop Site News, Responsible Statecraft, Sonar21, Scheerpost, Breaking Points, Consortium News, 972 Magazine, CounterPunch, The Intercept, The Nation, Haaretz and others like them.

We also browse Israeli newspapers like The Times of Israel and the Jerusalem Post for the ridiculous things they say.

We are cross-platform:

He still has 40% approval, for some, he can do no wrong.

Am I taking crazy pills? What does it matter if something is unpopular with voters in the second term? Was he going to run again? Many have claimed he'll subvert the next elections anyway, so- why does it matter? Is he also not 79 and visibly ill? Am I insane?

The current admin is seemingly guaranteed to have a break anyways, dems will win out- do nothing obama-biden style, and the same conditions that allowed a Trump to rise, will allow a much more competent Trump to rise again- shut up.

The most frustrating part of that cycle is when they celebrate in the streets as if the revolutionaries toppled DC when all they did was vote a guy out in favor of another guy who will enable his policies.

Do nothing obama biden style? Like when obama bombed the shit out of Libya or when Biden lied about a ceasefire and provided weapons for israel and ukraine?

Now south america is being strangled and gagged for its resources, all to fuel wars the capitalist bipartisanship have fueled in lust for profits for its slopexgange (wallstreet)

I want this shit to fucking stop. So yeah, it does matter. I have to pay triple the attention to the ins and outs of the pedophilic blood circus that is washington because what becomes policy there is reflected here with bootlickers: Ecuador, Chile, Argentina have as presidents. You don't fall in line? you get Maduro'd.

Continuity is doing nothing. Do nothing as in, promise no meaningful change and provide no meaningful change.

[–] BarrelsBallot@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, do nothing as in do nothing to re-distribute the spoils of imperialism and sate the fervor of the soon-to-be fascist sympathetic masses

[–] BarrelsBallot@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 4 days ago

And if we vote in a mamdani-like who will effectively save capitalism by re-distributing the spoils of imperialism- we'll have just saved capitalism- again!

If this happens, I wish someone in the US Army refuses an order to participate in the war, arguing that he will not follow illegal orders, because only Congress has the right to declare war. Assuming this goes to a non-military court, we would finally have a case against the president's ability to wage war which is very very clearly very unconstitutional.

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

But he can order non-war (8 weeks or whatever it was) actions?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 13 points 4 days ago

But if Israel demands it, he will do it anyway.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

So, this is what would do it? Not everything else?

Fine, whatever it takes, I guess, but I'm not buying it.

I'll believe it when I see it. They've predicted the doom of this turd for 10+ years now

[–] spitfire@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, because bombing them is obviously fine.

[–] dmention7@midwest.social 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You say that sarcastically, but it is unironically true for the y'all queda crowd.

[–] spitfire@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

At the moment I’d worry more about the countries bombing most civilians: Israel, Russia and US&A. Great company.

[–] graycube@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

He is not going to take a country of 80M people that is about the geographic size of 1/3 of the continental US with just a few thousand troops.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

The only thing that will kill it is when the people who are maneuvering to seize power no longer need him to do so.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

He wants some special operations stuff, not a full land invasion.

Once dictatorship's instantiated, then polls mean nothing.

April, looks like..
