You can make anything scientific if you phrase it right!

So that's how things would've been if I had invented the Thing-Longer.

A man can dream though... a man can dream.

Science compels us to explode the sun

You know, you blow up one sun and suddenly everyone expects you to walk on water.

Reminded of a particular scene near the beginning of Project Hail Mary when they're studying something very tough.

I really hope the movie doesn't murder it too much :/

[–] xusontha@ls.buckodr.ink 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I didn't know there was a movie! Now I'm excited!

[–] bloopernova@programming.dev 4 points 2 years ago

I think I'd rather see an 8 part series instead, but I'm happy we're getting a movie. I just hope that it will be as good as The Martian was.

They'll probably skip over all the scientific discoveries that happen before the mission to keep things simpler, and I would bet money they change the ending.

And I hope Charlize Theron plays Stratt :)

The Martian was a great adaptation, as long as they follow that path it should be great.

I'm a little worried a certain character won't translate well to screen, but I'll be watching anyways.

[–] bloopernova@programming.dev 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Yeah me too. I don't see how they'll look good on screen unless they change R a lot.

Project Hail Mary SpoilersI am actually arachnophobic, so in one way I hope they do change Rocky. I am thinking more octopus like, or something else to make them less spidery.

I really hope their language makes it in unchanged!

Just keep poking! What could possibly go wrong?

[–] troglodytis@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

It will explode. It's just sometimes you have to wait longer.
