Some time on Friday/Saturday my 2 recycling wheelie bins disappeared from my back yard. I found them on the back street and they were fully empty. I presumed that the collection day had changed and maybe a neighbour took them out for me. Except it's collection day tomorrow and every neighbour has their bins out and they're all full.

What's happened? Anybody got a clue? If it was just one bin I could guess that somebody needed cardboard or aluminium or was trying to steal my identity. I'd be fine with that. But who would take both?!?

Sir Digby Chicken Caesar has requisitioned your storage receptacles for a Top Secret mission. Please ask no further questions.

Kids?

Or maybe someone was looking for bins to help fly tipping and found yours.

Or kids?

There'd have been a lot of litter which I feel I'd have seen. Maybe kids wheeled them far away and then fly-tipped and then wheeled them back.

Someone is out there is vaguely confused by a text from an unknown number that reads "Hi mate, pissed off waiting for the skaffie. I'm heading to the tip with my bins. I can take yours too if you want".

Stuff to start a fire, and cans / bottles to throw rocks at. It's easier to wheel the bins, tip them out fully, and bring them bsck, rather than carrying armfuls of stuff.

Were the definitely yours? Maybe they got caught up in the wind we had and accidentally mixed up with another house.

Yes, they had to open a back gate and they only took 2 of 4 wheelie bins. Couldn't have been the wind.

No idea really. Was it all paper/cardboard recycling? Maybe someone needed extra material for a bonfire?

I think you're going to have to get "Sherlock Holmesing" the area around those bins and back streets for clues.

One was paper/cardboard and the other was glass/plastic/metal. Which rules out a bonfire theory. Might do some holmesing tomorrow

Private investigators? Maybe they were hoping for electronics with the metal one.

Ooh this is a fun one. I don't think I'm nearly interesting enough to warrant something like that. And unfortunately for them I respect WEEE regulations. Also I think they'd have taken my normal rubbish too if this was the case?
