Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).
Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".
Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
If you know what this is, your hair is probably a tiny bit gray
Yah........ salt and pepper......
What's left of it, anyway.
True. The bad news is I'm going grey but the good news is I'm going bald
IMA FIRIN MAH GAY LAZER!
This is fabulous, I'm stealing this for later :3
imagine if jk rowling died during pride
Jake Rolling? Never heard of him.
If JK Rowing dies during pride it would be proof that not only that there is a God but God loves the gays.
In my vision she's leading an LGB-drop-the-T pride parade as the parade's Grand Marshall. At some pivotal moment she gives a grand speech, ending with phrase, "and thank you to the LGB community!" Immediately after, a deafening sound of thunder echoes across the square, and all is obscured by a blinding flash of light. As the crowd's eyes adjust, they see a sight before them. JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter and arch-demon to the trans community worldwide, is dead on her feet, struck down by lightning as if by the wrath of an angry God.
Sometimes you just have to go with the classics. And nothing quite says "wrath of God" like a literal lightning strike.
also thanks to her her family would have to spend more money making a male and female grave to abide by the uk government guidance.
When she dies I will make it my mission to paint her whole grave in pride flags of all kinds, right after pissing on it.
We'd all be proud
Is this comic implying that this woman is an elemental font of pure pride? Is she the source of all of it? 😮
Nah it's more like she's become a conduit to it at a rate she's unable to control
What’s funny (sad), is I’ve only seen references to Pride Month here on Lemmy. Haven’t seen a peep anywhere else.
The bad thing about that is that it's not in the zeitgeist enough to show up much. The good thing about that is that I'd rather corporations not pretend they give a shit about it.
However, the less you hear about it, the more necessary it is to exist.
The attitude, the drawing style, the expression,… art ladies and gentlequeers, pure art!
Hollering Elk is fantastic.
Jesus fuck. When the hell did Tumblr become a "sign up or fuck off" site?
Probably around the same time ML companies started hoovering up all the image/text data to feed their generators, accelerating hosting costs. It's not as if Tumblr has a history of staying solvent.
First of all happy pride all. Second of all hell yes more hollering elk please!!!
This is what you find at the end of a rainbow, at least on June 1st.
