Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Wait, isn't this the same guy who, two years after this post, disowned one of his own children because they came out as transgender?

[–] hovercat@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 day ago

Well, it's even funnier because he initially disowned her because she basically just asked him to be an engaged parent, and not just try and buy her affection like everyone else. The anti-trans stuff was just a result of him spiraling down a hole of mental illness because he so desperately need for everyone to like him, and suddenly there was someone whose love he couldn't just buy. So instead of reflecting on why that is, he just blamed it on the transgender woke mind virus Marxist socialism.

Where his heart takes him:

And now, after she began transitioning in 2020, he disowned his daughter/whines that 'the woke mind virus killed my son'.

corporations, politicians and the super wealthy are all enemies of the international working class, and can never be trusted

and no, there are no exceptions. use politicians as tools to make progress but never ever trust them.

the working class must organize and sieze power ourselves or else forever remain slaves

[–] positiveWHAT@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (3 children)

No, not ALL politicians are enemies of the working class.

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 5 points 1 day ago

At the very least it's not a defining feature, as with the other two.

[–] Goodlucksil@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago

Almost all of them. There are maybe a few exceptions. I'm going to be honest, the only politician I would count as "good" is Miguel Ángel Revilla.

some begin life as allies of the working class, but power corrupts. it is so unbelievably rare for humans to be able to resist that corruption that it can never be relied upon. politicians betraying the will of the people isn't just an individual failing, it's the system working as intended

How does the working class collectively make decisions that affect everyone?
Wouldn't they need some form of delegates representing them?
Cause those would also be politicians.

No, it wouldn't. The difference vs someone appointed as a delegate vs a politician is that the group can recall a delegate that is not representing them whereas politicians are on set terms (for the most part).

better to have a messy democratic system than an orderly fascistic one

[–] mech@feddit.org 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Who decides which voting method to use?

Monkey paw curls

Congratulations, water now contains ivermectin instead of flouride.

the majority of even americans still support fluoride in the water, despite everything. there is a relatively small minority ruining the country due to representative democracy. heck, a majority oppose aid to israel and support medicare for all. direct democracy would make the US an incredibly better country

[–] Yliaster@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You're restricting your thinking to being solely within the current political system.

Direct democracies exist as an antidote to the problem of corrupt "representatives" and politicians; replacing them instead with delegates who can only communicate goals and have no political power to enforce them— that power remains with the people within a direct democracy.

[–] mech@feddit.org 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

So how do people in a direct democracy decide for example whether to defend their country militarily against an attacker, and how, or sue for peace?
Do you publish all your military intel on the attacker and the strength of your own forces and then hold a vote?
Who decides from which age on people are eligible to vote? etc...

Look into anarchism, all of these questions and whatever else you can think of have been answered.

Anarchistfaq is a site you can read on this more on.

Was that right around the time they were having all these problems with racism and sexism in their Fremont factory? Or was that a different time?

[–] Ledivin@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Those reports were woke so they didn't count

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

This was just months before the tantrum that started his negative public opinion trend, eventually leading to his 180 and trying to look good to the far right instead of the slightly closer to the centre right.

Alternatively: even the richest man in the world has to dance like an organ grinder's monkey for my queer, queer pennies.

Which he will not be getting.

Dance harder ya fucken monkey
