There's literally zero downsides to walkable cities outside of it being car unfriendly and imagine giving a shit about cars, ha.
Well there is a risk that it accidentally makes driving more bearable by getting rid of traffic jams.

Not all walkable cities are communism but all communism is walkable cities.
